Finally, she leaned against the bed for a good while, then groped her way out of the room. She saw a bowl of dog meat on the stove, grabbed it without hesitation, and left.
After returning home, she felt too tired and immediately crawled into bed.
She was awakened by knocking on the door. She frowned, feeling a severe headache.
Yet she still got up, as the knocking outside continued relentlessly.
"Who is it?" She was startled by her own hoarse voice.
"Meng Lin, Meng Lin, open the door."
"Get lost, I don't want to see you now."
"No, Meng Lin, let me see you. What happened yesterday? I can't remember."
"Just go away," Kong Menglin said stiffly as she returned to her room.
She lay on the bed listening to the knocking at the door outside.
"Meng Lin, I brought the dog meat for you, and the leftover peanuts and eggs from yesterday. If you don't want to see me, come out and get them yourself. I left them at the door."
