Chapter 7 - Chapter 7 Dignity? One Million for One Night

"Oh, your great benevolence, I simply cannot bear it. You might as well let me die quickly!" She resolutely turned away, ignoring him.

"Ha." Asher Land sneered. This woman just wouldn't give him a pleasant face. But then again, when did he, Asher Land, ever fall so low as to have to care about others' expressions?

"Do you know who I am?"

"Of course I know."

Four years ago, he took so much from her; how could she not know who he was?

"Asher Land, CEO of Golden Era Consortium's Asian branch." She stated word by word.

"Oh?" Asher Land flashed a playful smile. Given the situation, she still dared to defy him? One must know, in Eastern City, the name Asher Land symbolized power and wealth.

"Can I leave now?"

Her face was full of disgust and impatience, all of which naturally fell into his eyes.

"Be my woman." He suddenly said.

What?

Her ears must be malfunctioning, right? What utter nonsense! She would die rather than agree!

"Be my woman, and I'll give you the role you want."

Role?

The so-called role was not of any interest to her from the moment she stepped into that private room last night. She was blind to ever meet Sam Chapman and believe that if she worked hard, others would appreciate her.

"Sorry, I don't want it. I have my dignity, and I will never resort to such vulgar means to gain position."

"Dignity?" He scoffed. "One million a night, will you sell?"

"You..."

Why did he have to humiliate her again and again?

She knew she wasn't his match, so when she saw him again after four years, she tried hard to control herself, persuading herself not to be impulsive. But that didn't mean she had given up her hatred. Although she wasn't sure how much he was involved in that incident four years ago, she just hated him.

His humiliation only each time added another mark of hatred on her heart.

"Sophie Smith, meeting me is your luck. I just appreciate you, so don't be ungrateful." His lips still carried a faint smile, but the smile made her feel disgusted.

The confrontation between the two was broken by a knock on the door.

"Room service."

Sophie Smith suppressed her emotions, walked to the door, and opened it.

"Hello, here's your clothes."

Sophie Smith suspiciously took a set of clothes from the servant's hand. She glanced back at Asher Land, who merely nodded indifferently.

She went to the bathroom, locked the door from the inside, and prepared to change clothes.

Asher Land shook his head, surprised at her strong sense of guard against him.

She changed quickly, not making him wait long.

"I'm leaving." Sophie Smith didn't look back, eager not to see this man any longer.

"Won't you consider what I said?"

She refused to even consider it, becoming his woman and starring as the lead actress in that film? She only thought it was filthy.

"I'm not interested."

Refusing him?

She really had backbone.

"Very well." He was not annoyed, instead keeping an elegant, charming smile on his lips, "You can leave. We will meet again soon."

Meet again? What kind of joke was he making? She was avoiding him, how could there be any chance to see him again?

Sophie Smith decisively slammed the door and left.

There definitely wouldn't be a second chance to see him. She was absolutely certain in her heart.

But sometimes, the more you try to escape destiny, the tighter it binds you.

Asher Land chuckled lightly, unconcerned about her departure because he was absolutely certain she would come back seeking him.

He picked up the information handed over by Robert Williams regarding her, flipping through it casually.

She was now a junior at Eastern Film Academy. Her life was quite simple, thus her information was simple too. However, the place of her birth did catch his attention.

She was actually from Southern County?

His brow furrowed inadvertently. He stood by the window, momentarily lost in thought…
