He said, "But Sophie, do you know? I'm not well, not well at all."
Her nose tingled, and she dared not look up to meet his eyes.
Seeing her helpless look, he really wanted to hold her in his arms, gently kiss her, and comfort her.
"Sophie..." He was just about to call her name when, unexpectedly, she started to cry upon hearing his voice.
He was at a loss; he knew she felt wronged. If not for making Nathan let her go, she wouldn't have 'sold' herself to Nolan. He understood all of this.
He wanted to hug her, but she quickly took a step back.
"Asher Land, let's just keep some distance for now." She knew he was about to get engaged to Irene Morton. Right now, Nathan probably wouldn't do anything to him, but if things rekindled between them, Nathan would likely take measures again.
His hand awkwardly hung there for a moment before he slowly let it drop.
