Colton Morton was breathing a bit unsteadily; Asher Land's words were clearly meant to embarrass him.
Colton Morton knew about Asher having a woman and a child outside; in fact, he understood this matter very thoroughly. But as someone who lives in high society, he also knew that it's not uncommon for successful men to have women outside.
Today's events were somewhat beyond his expectations. If he had known that Asher would have such an attitude towards his and Irene's marriage, he wouldn't have invited Irene's uncles in advance.
