Chapter 15 - Chapter 13: Flights of Fancy

"Miss Five, the BOSS has instructed me to take you back to do your homework."

Elijah Reid's sudden appearance made Hannah's face turn pale. She thought, why is Liam Spencer meddling in other people's business? Besides, when has Maya Spencer ever done her homework? If she did, how could she have scored only 8 points.

So she said, "Assistant Reed, I'll take Maya back later, you can go about your work!"

"Madam, I'm sorry, but the BOSS's orders must be followed." Then, he turned to Maya and threatened, "Miss Five, if you don't want to write another reflection, I advise you to go back to do your homework as soon as possible."

Upon hearing Elijah's threat, Maya felt a wave of relief wash over her. She had been worrying about how to make her escape, and now she finally had a way out.

So, she picked up her bag and, without a word to anyone, left with Elijah.

In the car, Elijah glanced at the languid Maya and shook his head in resignation, showing his sympathy for her.

Moments later, he noticed Maya's increasingly peculiar state. Her pale face was flushed, her eyes lacked their usual clarity and seemed clouded with a hint of desire, and her small hands were continuously scratching at her neck and face.

Having seen the world, Elijah immediately recognized what was happening. He took a deep breath, pounded the steering wheel, and cursed, "What a bastard!"

He thought, if Liam hadn't taken pity, Maya's fate tonight would have been unimaginable.

After cursing, he promptly dialed Liam's number to report, "BOSS, taking Miss Five back to school in this state isn't a good idea."

"Take her to my suite."

"Okay."

After receiving Liam's order, Elijah took Maya to Liam's usual presidential suite, which was exclusively reserved for him.

Then, he called Liam again.

"BOSS, what should I do about Miss Five now?"

"I'm on my way!"

Elijah had just hung up the phone for two minutes when the door to the suite opened. Upon seeing Liam arrive, he felt as if he had seen his savior and quickly asked, "BOSS, what should we do now? If you hadn't asked me to take Miss Five away, she would have been in real trouble today."

Liam had already seen through Hannah's little tricks at a glance. He originally wanted to ignore her antics, but the constant chatter about Maya at the dining table forced him to intervene.

As Liam approached the suite, he glanced at the disoriented girl on the bed, immediately shut the door, and returned to the living room.

Elijah watched as Liam quickly closed the door and cautiously suggested, "How about I call Young Master Reid over? He quite likes Miss Five, and he'll definitely be responsible for her."

"Can you make decisions for the Spencer Family?"

"BOSS, I'm sorry!"

"You go back first, let her stay on her own."

Obeying Liam's instructions, Elijah left quietly, thinking about how coldhearted Liam was to leave Maya on her own. He couldn't help but break into a cold sweat. If Maya wasn't attended to, she might end up scratched all over, her body a mass of wounds.

But there was nothing more he could do, he could only leave things to fate.

After Elijah left, Liam paced in the living room for a while before opening Maya's room door again.

Liam took a deep breath, walked into the room, lowered the temperature of the air conditioner a few degrees, and looked at the bed with an indescribable expression on his face.

Just as he was about to leave Maya behind, she suddenly started crying. No matter how hard she scratched, her frustration was not relieved. When her small hands brushed across her skin, a blood-red mark was left before Liam's eyes.

Seeing the various scratches on the girl's body, Liam stepped up to the bed, bent down, and restrained her wrists, "If you keep scratching, you'll ruin yourself."

Maya couldn't hear his advice. She only knew she was in agony. It felt as if ants were crawling from her head to her toes, wriggling through her veins, and no amount of scratching could alleviate the torment.

In her dazed state, Maya heard someone speaking to her and started crying woefully.

Liam frowned deeply, thinking, would he really have to call Henry Reid?

He couldn't bring himself to do such a shameless thing, and his disdain for Hannah and her daughter grew even more. How could a fellow woman be so ruthless?

"Maya, hang in there," Liam said, as he removed his tie and bound Maya's hands to the bed, preventing her from scratching herself further.

However, being tied up only made Maya feel worse, and she cried even louder, which annoyed Liam to no end.

Watching the snake-like writhing of Maya, Liam couldn't help but reach out his large hand to wipe away the tears on her face and scolded, "Aren't you resilient, able to endure? Let's see your real skills this time."

As soon as Liam finished speaking, Maya bit into his finger without mercy and refused to let go, causing Liam to suck in a sharp breath in pain.

He forcefully tried to pull his hand back, but she only bit down harder, fueling his anger to the point of wanting to slap her. However, he wasn't in the habit of hitting women, so he could only endure the pain.

He said, "Maya, let go of me, or don't blame me for being rough with you."

"Maya, I'm speaking to you, can you hear me?"

But Maya was completely irrational, paying no heed to Liam's threats, biting down with such force that his face turned pale with pain, yet she still didn't release him.
