Ella's excuse left Elijah a bit perplexed. He frowned and dismissed her explanation, saying, "Why would anyone kidnap you? There's no point."
"How is it pointless? What if they force me to admit my brother's accident was just a regular car crash?" Ella retorted defiantly.
Elijah was at a loss, worried she'd overthink after he left,
so he reluctantly said, "I'll leave once you fall asleep. No one is coming to your house to kidnap you."
Seeing Elijah back down, Ella stopped being stubborn, bit her lip, nodded, and said, "Okay."
"Then go take a shower and get some sleep!" Elijah sat on the sofa, picked up the remote, and turned on the TV, pretending to watch casually.
Seeing this, Ella took a deep breath, walked leisurely into the bedroom, grabbed her pajamas from the wardrobe, and headed to the bathroom.
"Elijah, can you come here for a moment?" A moment later, Ella's voice came from the bedroom bathroom.
