Arlo Seys's thin lips instantly pressed into a straight line, cold and distant. He glanced lightly at Ariel Morris, quickly masking all his emotions, then lifted his leg to leave, "I'm going to the study to deal with some things. You should sleep first; don't wait up for me."
Ariel Morris watched Arlo Seys's retreating figure and gave a heavy "Mm" in response.
There seemed to be something wrong with Arlo tonight, but she couldn't quite put her finger on it. What on earth happened? Did Susan Saxton say something to him at the police station, or was it trouble at work?
When Arlo Seys reached the door, he couldn't resist stopping his steps. Without turning back, he asked in a faint voice, "Is there really nothing else you want to tell me?"
