"Because... because he pursued me once and I rejected him! So now things are awkward between us!" Lydia Brooke quickly said.
"Really?" Derek Brooke expressed doubt.
"Really!" Lydia Brooke's expression was very serious, looking back at Derek Brooke without any hint of evasion.
"Rest assured, now that you're with me, it's clear you're a married woman, so Uncle Saxton won't fancy you or try anything on you."
"..."
What else could she say?
Her son was so articulate, what could she say?!
Lydia Brooke feared if she said more, Derek Brooke would become suspicious and mess up in tomorrow's interaction with Jorge Saxton. She dared not say another word, said 'Goodnight' to Derek Brooke, and headed back to her room.
While Derek Brooke looked at the watch phone on his wrist, his eyes deep as he gazed at 'Uncle Saxton' in the contacts storage.
"Saxton, right—Jorge Saxton... are you really just pure friends with my mom?"
Derek Brooke lay on his bed, muttering to himself.
