The man stood at the doorway, staring at her fair profile, gently exhaled, and then called her name heavily:
"Daisy Ginger."
The woman slightly turned her head, her gaze leaving the phone screen and landing on his face.
"Where did you go this afternoon?" He walked towards her, "Do you know that you..."
"Do you find this kind of life interesting?"
Daisy Ginger's words made Edward Stephens pause in his steps.
His deep eyes slightly narrowed.
"I have to report to you when I leave the house, and you have to follow me when I go shopping," she closed the game on her phone, the music abruptly stopped, and with the loss of that noise, the quiet space suddenly tightened.
"You even control what I eat, and whether or not to have children is up to you." She smiled and looked at him, "Do you think living like this is interesting for me?"
Edward Stephens watched her smile, and his face grew increasingly somber.
