Daisy Ginger threw a pillow at his head.
You're the damn dog!
Edward Stephens chuckled softly and was about to get up when the phone next to Daisy's pillow rang.
Their phones were placed together, and he casually picked it up, glancing at the screen.
His relaxed expression slowly faded. Daisy noticed the change in his demeanor and stopped joking around, looking at him and asking softly, "What's wrong?"
"It's nothing." He stood up straight. "It's a call from my brother's lawyer. I need to take it."
He quickly turned and headed to the restroom. Daisy sat up, slowly furrowing her brows.
Robert Stephens was already dead. Why would his lawyer call?
Could it be that he had some aspect of his will that was left unsaid?
Daisy quickly got out of bed and dressed. When Edward came out, she immediately asked, "Did the lawyer say anything?"
"He said..." Edward hesitated for a moment, "that I need to go out. There's still something left from my brother to be announced."
