George Stephens stood at the door, glanced at her, then walked in on his own, sitting on the coffee chair opposite her. He picked up the orange juice that Charlotte Smith had ordered for him, and bit the straw with his head down.
Lady Stephens walked in from outside, slowly sat opposite her and sighed gently. She softly chatted with her, "Charlotte, how have you been?"
Charlotte Smith nodded, her eyes always resting on George Stephens, looking at the child's tiny exposed wrist, she softly said to him, "George, the weather is getting colder, make sure you wear more clothes."
George lifted his head, glanced at her, then withdrew his gaze, and responded with an "oh."
He seemed a little absent, as if he was just going through the motions.
Lady Stephens explained to Charlotte Smith, "George and I left in a hurry today. He just casually put on some clothes before heading out. Usually, both the nanny and I are there to take care of him."
