Chapter 12 - Survivor 2

Soo Min-ji exhaled deeply as she saw the notification on the screen's interface.

 "Finally, some progress," she muttered.

A new interface appeared showing a diagram of a sword with a notification below it.

[New weapon unlocked: Crescent blade]

[[Weapon Type: Adaptive Blade-Bow]

Crescent Blade — ideal for close combat, fast swipes, bleed damage

She nodded satisfactorily, "It should do, I love it."

[----25%]

Soo Min-ji whistled, tapping her right foot impatiently on the ground, "Hmm."

[----99%]

[Materialization complete]

A blade emanated from a flash of light, curling into a graceful crescent shape. Black-metallic with streaks of molten silver veining through it, the handle hummed in her grip the moment she reached out.

"It's lovely," her eyes twitched as she observed its contours, "Perfect.. just perfect," a grin formed at the corners of her lips.

Then it hit her..

"Heuk Jin!" She gasped, rushing towards the entrance, "Damn it, how did I forget him?"

Crushed fleshwalkers lined the path, black blood was filled everywhere causing her stomach to churn badly, "Ugh," she pinched her nostrils to block the offensive odour that threatened to kill her.

She was careful not to slip, and fall lest she would be as filthy as they were.

Something caught her attention as soon as she reached the boulders she had crossed earlier. There was something shiny coming from the midst of some of these fleshwalkers.

She arched her brows, drawn by curiosity, "What is that now?" She scurried towards it, her eyes wide with anticipation.

She reached it, only to see the glowing crystal like knife that had injured Heuk Jin.

"Hold on, this could be useful," she used her crescent blade to tap on it before finally picking it up.

"Too bad I don't have a bag for this," she rolled her eyes, shoving it into her pocket.

She walked a little further to find five other crystal knifes, one by one she kept retrieving them.

By the time she had gotten to the entrance, she was able to retrieve ten of these crystal knives.

"These would be of good use," she nodded to herself, shoving the last one in her already filled Pocket.

On getting to the entrance she noticed it had been blocked by that rock she had pushed on earlier!

She gritted her teeth, "Oh now I'm in a dilemma! I can't get stuck here!" She groaned, kicking a gravel out of fury.

She looked around for any possible sign of an escape.

"Poor guy, he must have lost a lot of blood," she bit her fingers nervously, her eyes still frantically darting about.

Her eyes landed on the rock again, and her ears steamed.

"What in the name of the Apocalypse is going on?" She stamped her right foot.

"It's not as if I can Punch this through, I still don't have the strength for that," she shook her head.

She hissed, pursing her lips together, "If only I had an explosive," she clenched her fists, grinding her teeth against one another.

The crystal knives.

"Yes ! Those crystal knives!" She quickly reached for one of them in her pocket, "This should have some kind of explosive force in them," she sucked in her lips.

She drew backwards a little, her head pounding hard, "Hopefully this works," she gulped, throwing one of them at the rock.

KA BOOM!

She immediately covered her face with her hands as the rock exploded into tiny many pieces.

When the dust had settled, she peeked her head out if her handsy cover.

Phew, it worked!" She wiped her sweaty forehead.

She exhaled deeply before dashing out of the cave. She rushed towards the direction she had seen Heuk Jin lying on.

"Heuk Jin! Can you hear me?" She called out as she scurried over to where he lay down.

Her heart drummed against her rib cage. Was he dead? But he was supposed to build the world with her too right? How would she continue this alone without no helper?

"This is bad," she breathed out as she reached his side, "Heuk Jin are you still alive? Did you die again?" She shook him frantically, "Wake up please."

Her shoulders drooped as the realization dawned on her. He was.. dead.

Her lips trembled as tears threatened to blind her vision. She literally met him within forty-eight hours, how could he just die like that?

"You stupid undead man!" She hit his chest hard, her voice breaking"How dare you die on me, huh?" She hit his chest again, tears slowly rolling off their haven.

"This is all my fault," she sat back on the ground, palming her face, "I knew leaving him alone was a bad idea," she sniffled.

"I'm worry Heuk Jin," she buried her face between her knees.

"Took you long enough to get here," his smooth velvety voice snapped her out of her reverie.

She flinched immediately, sitting up, "What?"

"I am not dead pretty human, I am still very much.. uhm awake."

She grimaced, her cheeks flushing with embarrassment of what she had done a few seconds ago, "You evil.." she attempted to hit his chest again, but he caught her hand, drawing her closer making her fall on his rock hard chest.

"I see you already care about me," his gaze shifted to her widened eyes looking down at him, "That is so kind of you."

She was short of words as she blinked back her tears, "Wh- what are you talking about?"

"I mean, you thought I was dead, then began to blame it on yourself, which I found amusing because you didn't even do anything wrong."

"But I shouldn't have.." he placed a hand on her lips.

"Shh... You did nothing wrong princess," he pushed back some stands of hair from her face, "I am fine as you can see."

"But.. what happened to you?" Her eyes drifted to his already dried up wound, "Plus you're still injured."

He chuckled, "I had to play dead of course, I knew if I continued fighting, I would drain off all my strength and they would eventually kill me."

"How come they didn't want your brain or something?"

Amusement flickered in his eyes, "I am still a zombie.. remember?" His hand brushed against her lips.

Shivers ran down her spine as she swallowed the lump that was forming in her throat, "That's.. true," she looked away, internally cursing herself that she found a dead man attractive.

His right hand found its way to her back, making her come closer, "You are very pretty up close," his velvety voice dropped to a husky whisper.

She just placer her head on his chest.

"This feels so nice," she closed her eyes.

"I know," he snaked his hands around her waist, "I wish we could stay like this for some minutes."

"We can,'" she blurted out before she could stop herself.

"Hmm," he snuggled against her warm bosom, "Okay."

A thought jumped into her head, but she tried brushing it off. Unfortunately it stubbornly persisted.

"Huek Jin can I ask you a question?"

"Hm?"

"When you were alive, how good were you in bed?"
