Ji Rui placed the laptop on his lap, typing away, and meanwhile, answered a few calls, one of which was from Yang Sheng.

On the other end of the line, along with Yang Sheng's anxious voice, there was the sound of clattering; presumably, he was so anxious that he knocked over a chair.
