Looking at the circle of bright bracelets snugly wrapped around Le Tong's wrist, Ji Rui felt immensely cheerful. When they got home, after they each took a shower, Le Tong first sent Baobao to bed, then urged him to go to sleep early. Initially having a pile of work to do, he unusually didn't put up much resistance and obediently went back to the bedroom to sleep.
On Sunday morning, Le Tong secretly got up at dawn, tinkering in the kitchen for hours. By the time Ji Rui and Baobao got up at their usual time, washed up, and stretched lazily walking out of the bedroom, the whole house was filled with the aroma of dumplings.
Like a race, Baobao and Ji Rui each gobbled down several bowls. Le Tong had Aunt Guan pack up the dumplings prepared but not yet cooked into boxes, asking the driver to send them to the grand mansion for Mr. Ji to taste.
