Chapter 13 - Chapter 13: Simply Marry Qin Muni Back Home

Just as Xu Yisen caught up with Munni, he had to swallow his words of explanation and wait until he was alone with her to speak.

Munni gathered her emotions and greeted Uncle Zhang warmly, "Uncle Zhang, it's been a long time! You look much better these days."

"Indeed, it has been a long time. Why doesn't the Young Madam visit the Master and Madam and me more often?"

"From now on, Uncle Zhang, just call me Munni. It sounds friendlier."

Her teasing words were actually a reminder to Uncle Zhang that she had already divorced Xu Yisen.

Uncle Zhang seemed not to catch Munni's hint and responded formally, "Young Madam is Young Madam. How could I overstep and call you by your name?"

Munni saw Uncle Zhang's intention and, not wanting to argue with him about the title, changed the subject.

Xu Yisen walked silently beside Munni, finding it somewhat amusing. Why had he misunderstood Munni as such a deep and calculating woman? Clearly, spending a little time would show that she was not at all like the rumors suggested. Ultimately, he hadn't taken her or their marriage seriously enough.

The easy banter between the elder and the younger reached his ears, making him deeply nostalgic.

For the past three months, upon returning home and walking into the living room with Uncle Zhang from the entrance, he always felt something was missing. Now he suddenly realized... he missed Munni, the little woman who liked to joke with Uncle Zhang as they walked.

Three years might not be considered long or short, yet it was enough for Munni to become a habit to him.

He was accustomed to her presence, used to living under the same roof with her, and accustomed to her being his wife.

Normally disliking trouble, Xu Yisen felt that changing this habit of Munni was genuinely troublesome. Therefore, at that moment, he decided to simply bring Munni back home again.

However, what the emotionally insensitive Xu Yisen did not realize was that all the reasons and excuses he made in his heart to bring Munni back home were merely concealing the fact that he truly wanted to be with her.

As the three entered the living room, Mrs. Xu Bai Wan Yun was sitting in the dining room watching the news.

Hearing the footsteps and conversation, she looked up at the approaching Xu Yisen and Munni.

"Auntie." As usual, Munni greeted Bai Wan Yun sweetly.

The difference was that her address for Bai Wan Yun had reverted from "Mom" back to the pre-marriage "Auntie."

With a slight frown on her delicate brow, Bai Wan Yun complained, "How come this girl got so distant? Come, sit next to Mom."

Munni sat down beside Bai Wan Yun, giving her a playful smile, choosing not to respond to the complaint just now.

"Ah Sen, your father is waiting for you in the study."

"Hm." Xu Yisen nodded, glanced at Munni, and then turned to walk towards the stairs.

After Xu Yisen left the living room, Bai Wan Yun held Munni's hand, worry etched on her face as she asked, "Tell Mom honestly, has Ah Sen mistreated you?"

"Mom, Yisen has always been good to me, never mistreated me."

How could Bai Wan Yun not see that Munni wasn't telling the truth? She sighed helplessly.

"Girl, if Ah Sen mistreats you, you can tell Mom. Mom will reprimand him for you. Why insist on divorce? Your father entrusted you to the Xu Family; we will certainly care for you. Now that your father is gone, and you've divorced Ah Sen, how can you manage alone without support?"

Bai Wan Yun's caring words flowed like a warm current through Munni's heart, enveloping her with an unprecedented sense of softness and happiness.
