The phone Chu Ci had placed on the table suddenly rang. She glanced at the screen and furrowed her brow slightly before hanging up.
Li Manman didn't need to think to know the call was from Fu Bin: "You two just had a spat, that's all. He's worried about you."
"You only fuss over things you care about. If you didn't care about him at all, you wouldn't get emotional like this."
Han Xi looked at Chu Ci, getting straight to the point. She also wanted to make Beichen back off.
Smart as Beichen was, he obviously understood Han Xi and Li Manman's intentions, but he said nothing.
"Let's quickly have our meal. Better not bring up unpleasant things."
Chu Ci signaled the two with her eyes not to speak further, since she and Beichen were friends as well and she didn't want everyone to feel awkward.
