Chapter 14 - Chapter 14 Unexpected Call (1)

Aiden Jiang sat upright on the sofa, lowered his eyes, and glanced at him.

Seeing his son finally showing some semblance of usual courtesy, he felt slightly more satisfied and summoned a muffled "Hmm" before his gentle gaze shifted to Zuri Ginger.

To be fair, as a foster father, Aiden Jiang was quite qualified.

He provided her with the best life and education, never treating her harshly or indifferently. Over the years, he never showed her a sour face, treating her as the genuine young lady of this family.

He held the most authority in the Ginger Family, and his attitude almost decided everyone else's attitude towards her.

Unfortunately, the two were never close.

Mainly because he was tall and distinguished, now nearing fifty, his mere silence could exude an aura of authority without anger.

Though he rarely loses his temper, even a simple look from him can cause unease.

If he chooses, a glance of encouragement and praise from him can make those around him feel satisfied, as if bathed in the warmth of spring.

Aiden Jiang embodies both authority and approachability.

Such a person, calm, rational, and dignified, can easily inspire trust and reliance.

Among these foster parents, Zuri Ginger has always admired him more, after all, it was he who made the decision to adopt her and brought her out of the orphanage.

After arriving at the Ginger Family, she also subtly sensed that the marital relationship between Aiden Jiang and Charlotte Chester was very harmonious, resembling mutual respect, yet the main authority remained with Aiden.

She needed this father's affection but was always pressed by his authority and wisdom, making true closeness difficult.

He was not Charlotte Chester, who would be overjoyed by receiving a bracelet worth two hundred thousand.

At present, it's evident that he favors Mia Ginger more.

Under his gaze, Zuri Ginger naturally felt as if she were on pins and needles, couldn't help but look up, and collided with his wise and gentle gaze.

Aiden Jiang said in a calm voice, "You're two years older than Mia Ginger, she still has to call you sister when she returns, so take care of her, tolerate her a bit, and get along well."

A single sentence, gentle and bland, yet profoundly meaningful.

Zuri Ginger was momentarily at a loss for words.

She wanted to explain something but felt inexplicably unable to speak.

After all, Aiden Jiang's words held no blame, nor did he say she intentionally targeted Mia Ginger, yet his knowing gaze seemed to have already judged her, and he couldn't help but remind her.

Zuri Ginger had no defense, had to maintain a gentle, obedient smile, and said sweetly, "I understand, Dad."

Aiden Jiang generously smiled and turned his head to look at Mia Ginger, who was coming down the stairs not far away.

She appeared frail and slender, her soft short hair making her small face seem palm-sized. Her slightly lowered head looked pure and beautiful, with a hint of childishness. When silent, she had a gentle and captivating aura, like a deer strolling through the forest, completely non-aggressive.

However, she had developed a tenacious and aggressive nature.

Aiden Jiang thought of her conduct in recent days and found it suddenly amusing yet helpless.

This child, to speak of her, is adorably naive.

Mia Ginger squeezed the acceptance letter a bit forcefully in her hands, looked up, and met his extremely forgiving and gentle gaze, froze for a second, didn't sit, and directly handed over the letter.

Aiden Jiang took it, glanced at it twice, closed it, and pushed it from the coffee table towards Charlotte Chester.

As she was flipping through it, she already heard his rare laughter and his words, "Wonderful, you really made Dad proud."

He intended to please, and upon lifting his eyes, he saw Mia Ginger seem slightly astonished, pressing her lips, smiling with two shallow dimples appearing.
