Camden River snapped back from his thoughts and looked up to see Maeve bringing over two glasses of freshly squeezed juice. She bent down, placing the glasses on the table and inviting the two of them to drink. She seemed a little lost about what to do next, standing by the coffee table with her lips pressed together, looking at him with a nervous expression.
Very strange—
She had been roommates with Mia for so long, and though they weren't best friends, they got along naturally. She had never been this at a loss before. It seemed to be because of her sudden new identity as his wife; facing her former classmates, she was now uneasy.
Camden River casually looked at her, feeling a bit of pity, and pulled her hand to have her sit next to him. He smiled and said, "It's still early, don't keep yourself busy, take a break first."
"..." Maeve blushed and looked at him, "I haven't finished chopping the vegetables yet."
"How about I help?" Mia suddenly suggested.
