In between, Melody Parker opened her drowsy eyes, "Adrian..."
"Mm, good girl~" he kissed her fragrant forehead, coaxing her to sleep.
Even after this, Adrian Davies still couldn't feel at ease.
He checked every corner inside and outside of the bedroom once again. After ensuring there were no such insects, he held Melody Parker in his arms again.
Adrian Davies embraced the woman, leaned down, and planted a kiss on her lips, "As long as I'm here, I will never let anyone have the chance to hurt you!"
Melody Parker slept soundly, not hearing the man's words. She only felt the warmth of his chest, like a kitten seeking its owner, snuggling into his arms.
The night was silent, without the strange rustling sound. Adrian Davies affectionately held the woman, inhaling her fresh scent, and soon drifted into a sweet dream.
What he didn't know was that the other double-yellow scorpion he brought back was quietly lying in Melody Parker's coat pocket, sleeping soundly just like them...
