In an instant, She wasn't sure if it was the little one's earnest expression or if it made Shen Funni, in a daze, recall the scene when Little Hetao first called "Mom" after She left years ago.
The tears that welled up instantly made She quickly immerse into the scene, nodding and responding, "Hey!"
This part was entirely added last-minute by the director, who initially thought Shen Funni had just returned to the country, having not acted for four years. Many things would have been unfamiliar, and She had never acted in a mother-son role before, presumably unable to capture that feeling.
Unexpectedly, the whole scene went smoothly in one take!
What moved the director even more was, somehow, in that earnest moment when the little one seriously called Shen Funni "Mom," the people present, watching through the lens, saw sincerity in the child's eyes, and their eyes couldn't help but feel warm.
