Chapter 12 - Chapter 12: That Person Is Her Cure

"Ha..." Viola Harris let out a light laugh, "Could it be my sister's lover? Or maybe he's the remedy for my sister..." There was a hint of ambiguity in her laughter.

Iris Harris took that kind of thing, and with a man taking her away, it naturally led people to think of those kinds of issues.

Alex Hawk thought as long as no one died, it would be ok. Sitting beside him was Brandan Hyde, who, after hearing Viola Harris' words, had an unreadable expression, but his face suddenly turned dark, his eyes uncertain as he looked towards the door, his thin lips slightly pressed together.

*

Halfway through the party, Brandan Hyde got up and left.

His departure was abrupt, carrying with it a chill that made others dare not call after him.

Viola Harris quickly followed, jogging to catch Brandan Hyde's arm.

"Brandan, are you going back so early?"

Standing at the entrance of the clubhouse, Viola Harris looked up with a smile at Brandan Hyde's face. The man's stunningly handsome face outshone even the dazzling lights of the clubhouse.

At this moment, such an outstanding man was hers.

This realization brought a sense of satisfaction to Viola Harris' heart.

No matter what, she would not let him go to anyone else.

"Brandan," not knowing what she thought of, Viola Harris' smile became even brighter, "I'm really happy you stood up for me tonight."

Upon hearing this, Brandan Hyde frowned slightly, glancing at Viola Harris: "Stood up?"

"It's about... my sister's matter..."

At this, Viola Harris' smile turned somewhat shy, "Though I'm really happy you did this for me, don't go overboard..."

"You think I was standing up for you?"

Brandan Hyde's words left Viola Harris stunned.

Wasn't he?

Wasn't his action tonight because a few days ago she had complained to him tearfully about Iris Harris bullying her, and he deliberately let his friend bully Iris Harris?

Brandan Hyde, with a cold expression, gave her a look and said nothing further, raising a hand to hail a taxi: "You should go home."

There was a hint of impatience in his expression.

Since Iris Harris left, during the latter half of tonight's party, he seemed somewhat impatient and restless. Perhaps others couldn't tell, but sitting beside him, Viola Harris sensed it clearly.

Brandan Hyde was angry, and Viola Harris didn't dare argue with him, although she didn't understand what he was angry about tonight.

Embracing Brandan Hyde's neck, she kissed his cheek and then obediently said to him, "Then I'll leave, Brandan."

Then she got into the car.

Watching Viola Harris leave, Brandan Hyde raised his hand to wipe the spot where she had kissed him earlier, then frowned and walked towards his Bentley.

Being with Viola Harris wasn't an unbearable thing; at least, compared to Iris Harris, she was much more obedient.

All he wanted was her obedience.

Brandan Hyde got into the car and drove towards home.

His mind was restless this evening, thoughts flashing between Iris Harris's flushed face and warm breaths, and Viola Harris's ambiguous words: The man will be her sister's remedy...

He remembered people saying the most potent part about that drug was that going to the hospital to pump the stomach wouldn't work; only doing that thing between a man and a woman could cure it.

"Bang!"

Unable to contain his inner frustration, Brandan Hyde slammed the steering wheel hard!
