At noon, Brandan Hyde came back for a while.
He saw Iris Harris sitting on the sofa and raised his eyebrows slightly, as if unexpectedly.
Iris lay lazily on the sofa, basking in the sun, looking like a cat enjoying the sunlight.
His heart stirred slightly, and he walked over to sit beside her. Iris opened her eyes, saw him, rubbed her eyes, and said with a somewhat murky voice, "You're back..."
Brandan touched her rosy cheeks from sleep, his fingertips slightly cool, making Iris shiver a little. Brandan withdrew his hand and kissed her face lightly, "Why didn't you go out today?"
"Too cold, didn't feel like moving..."
"Lazybones."
He chuckled, pulled her into his embrace, and gently brushed her hair with his fingers.
The scene was very cozy.
Lady Hyde came downstairs and saw her son embracing Iris Harris. Brandan had a faint smile on his face, full of tenderness, the sunlight melting soft warmth on his features.
