He walked over quietly, lowering his head to gaze at Sophia Sutton's peaceful sleeping face.
With her eyes closed, Sophia Sutton concealed the sharpness in her eyes, making her face appear softer and somewhat innocently cute.
He felt a strange flutter in his heart, reaching out to touch her face, but before his hand could reach her, Sophia Sutton opened her eyes.
Her clear eyes looked like ice, and that soft face changed almost instantly, reverting to the usual expression of Sophia Sutton.
Alex paused, then casually withdrew his hand and turned on the light.
Sophia Sutton sat up in bed, watched Alex walk over to hang his coat on the rack, and seemed somewhat surprised: "Are you sleeping here tonight?"
Alex glanced at her: "Lily was very tired from playing today."
