Chapter 215: Emotion Pokémon
~Steven S. POV~
[Hoenn Region, Next Day – Morning, Rustboro City]

Finishing up my morning cup of tea, I sighed in relief. Learning about Azure appearing in Hoenn left me at ease and concerned.
At ease because of the forces of evil that are plaguing the Hoenn Region, but with an additional champion like Azure, Wallace, and me, they can put up a front line. And unease that Azure isn't at his full strength, other than his iconic Eevee and Pikachu.
Preferably, I would've wanted him to have his old team or his Johto Team for the journey, but I'll have to make do with what I got. Although he started as a newbie Trainer, again might be a blessing in disguise as those forces have no clue of his appearance for the past years, unlike with Wallace being well known in Hoenn.
But with them taking the helm in Hoenn, I can safely gather the rest of the former Pokémon League Champions of Hoenn. Those former Champions have now made the Elite Four of Hoenn: Drake, Glacia, Sidney, and Phoebe.
Unfortunately for me, they now reside in different Regions, currently keeping up with their training. And I still must maintain my appearance of being my usual self, as they have infiltrated our family, Devon Corps.
There are two evil forces at play, hidden in the shadows of Hoenn, both wearing blue and red uniforms. My father forewarned me of this, along with the Pokémon Association Hoenn Chairman.
They have infiltrated the league and my family, Devon Corp. We must do everything in secrecy to not tip our hand. All that they know I'm merely handing a gift to a friend of mine, as he handed me precious fossils from his trip from Johto.
The Dome Fossil, Helix Fossil, and Old Amber. He said he found them in the Ruins of Alph in Johto to which I loved a lot for his generous apology gift.
These are precious fossils kept in preservation from a bygone era. Although I was a bit angry, I got swindled by him. I got to keep these precious fossils, and his telling me to find the Mega Evolution Guru made up for it, obtaining a few Mega Stones and Key Stones for my own Pokémon.
At the very least, with the rise of Mega Evolution, our company managed to locate a variety of them along with Key Stones. Even the Elite Four were offered Key Stones and Mega Stones for they're corresponding Pokémon provided by the Pokémon Association.
But now, though, hearing what Azure is around, I inquired what Pokémon he was searching for in Hoenn. He wanted to add a Bagon and a Milotic to his team, willing to search Hoenn to see if he could get the chance.
Hearing that, we shifted to topics of utmost importance before ultimately ending the call. At least I'm aware of his presence in the Hoenn Region.
After that, I made a call to the Pokémon Association to provide me with a Bagon and a Prism Scale. Shame there weren't any Feebas they had because of their nature, scientists and many people largely ignore them.
However, I can only provide him with the Bagon and Marvel Scale needed when he finds a Feebas. I would reward him with the rest after the evil organization is dealt with, as he mentioned, he'll be on the search for an Absol on his team.
Although… as a friend, it wouldn't be right to simply give him nothing in return without properly greeting him in Hoenn. I hope he'll like my gift would be a great addition to his team in the making, as he certainly helps me have an Aerodactyl on my team.
He mentioned that when a disaster is near, having Absol will surely help him detect the dangers so that he can start his search around Hoenn. It'll take a while to give him his request that I must hand to him personally.
People would think I'm gifting him as a good friend in Hoenn. It would keep the spies within the company to not thinking of anything suspicious.
Sadly, I can't offer him any Mega Stones for his Pokémon unless he already has them to draw attention. For now, I could only hope nothing happens to my father as he will reach Petalburg City, handing the Key Component for the Explorer 1 to our most trusted person we have.
Sigh… but for now, I must keep up my act so as not to slip up. I must maintain my persona for now, as not to tip them off…

~Azure S. POV~
[Hoenn Region, Morning, Route 101]
Checking my Arc Phone, it seems like I'm nearly close to the first city of my journey. The next step is Oldale Town, that's where Ruby is located currently, while Sapphire is playing catch-up.
I have my Treecko, Pikachu, Eevee, and Vulpix out in the open to keep any Wild Pokémon away from any funny ideas. Otherwise, the scenery was beautiful, though; the colors were more vibrant, and the air felt far fresher than you would find back on Kanto.
I suppose seeing Pokémon everywhere was also neat. I came across Wurmple and a lot more arthropods. I saw a few bird Pokémon crossing through the sky and even saw small fights like real animals in the wild, except they wield the elements.
When I encountered them, they got out of my way, seeing me. No, rather from my Pokémon as they deterred any weak ones away.
Other than avoiding dangerous Pokémon, in the end, the forest wasn't that bad, as long as you're not stupid. I can imagine a child could walk around here without getting harmed, only to be ambushed by Wild Pokémon.
It still soured me that I hadn't encountered any signs of civilization yet. Oldale Town is the nearest to where I'm located, anyway.
*Rustle*
Just as I was pondering, the sound of tree branches rustling, growls, and high-pitched sounds were coming from my left. Whatever was happening over there broke through the peaceful silence of the woods.
I turned around and heard the growling coming from a spot behind the bushes. The growling grew louder, yet it was not directed at me, but rather at something else.
Curiosity getting the better of me, I moved closer. Behind the bushes, there was a clearing. A Pokémon fight was what I thought.
But the more I heard growling, followed by a whimper. Following the sounds, the bush hid me from sight yet allowed me to see what was going on. I peeked over the branches and saw three Pokémon growling and cornering another Pokémon.
Three of the Pokémon were of the same species. It's a quadrupedal Pokémon similar in appearance to hyenas and canines. Its body is primarily gray with a black face and throat, paws, and belly.
Its eyes are red with yellow sclerae, and it has a red nose. Its lower jaw has two pointed teeth sticking out. The fur at the base of its tail is rumpled and shaggy. It has gray paw pads on its three-toed paws.
Immediately, my mind comes to Poochyena. But the Poochyena cornering the Pokémon in question got my immediate attention.
The Pokémon is a humanoid Pokémon with a white body. It has thin arms and legs that widen toward the feet. There is a wispy extension trailing off the back of its feet, creating the overall impression of a nightgown or oversized dress.
Most of its face is covered by green hair that resembles a bowl cut, but a pair of pinkish-red eyes is sometimes visible. There are two flat, red horns on top of its head: a large one toward the front and a smaller one at the back.
Ralts. A literal Ralts!
*Smack*
The three Poocheyna were looming over a Ralts, growling and mockingly tossing it around. It was clear they were bullying it for their amusement. Every time Ralts tried to get up, it knocked itself down again and then challenged itself to get back up.
Examining the Poocheyna was toying with Ralts, who seemed to be in pain. It painfully whined out its name as all Pokémon did, but seeing it had a different feeling. Now I understand why N despises battling in general.
Ralts struggled to get up but froze, seeing the mocking growl from Poocheyna. Even if Ralts did try to counterattack by shooting a purple energy ray from its forehead, it was slow, as the closest one dodged it with ease, and it laughed, or what came close to laughing.
[Observe].
[Ralts (F) Lv.6 Feeling Pokémon]
[Poochyena (M) Lv.4 Bite Pokémon]x3
Frowning at the scene, this seemed unfavorable, but I suppose that's the Law of the Jungle at work here. But at the same time, I can't help but see this as an amazing opportunity that presented itself.
On the one hand, a Ralts can be a beast of a Pokémon when it evolves, an amazing all-rounder with Special Moves, and not only that, but a top-tier Pokémon Waifu. That, and she can Mega Evolve.
The Poocheyna all had their backs to me, but the Ralts were facing my way and noticed me almost instantly. It didn't look at me for more than half a second as it refocused its full attention on the bullies right in front of it…
I waved to get Ralts's attention, and while it wasn't looking at me, I could see it was watching me out of the corner of its eye. I waved again as I unshrunk the Poke Ball in my hand and pointed towards Ralts, trying to see if it would understand my game of charades, and then pointed to the Poke Ball.
The Ralts almost imperceptibly nodded as they quickly looked into my eyes before they turned their heads back to the danger at hand. Ralts understood – well, at least I hope she did…
The Poochyena still hasn't noticed me yet, which is great because it would make this much harder if they did. While the Bite Pokémon were busy bullying Ralts, I took my chase, dashing forward.
A burst of adrenaline was released into my veins at the same time I lunged forward, giving my Pokémon the order, "Treecko! Vulpix! Eevee! Quick Attack!"
*Zoooom*
All three became blurs as they attacked each of the Poochyena from the side. The rustling of the bush alerted all three as they turned to face me.
*SMACK*
*Swooosh*
*Pop*
In that swift motion, they all kicked each one of them in the face, sending them flying. And in that instant. I began to get Ralts' attention as she frantically searched for a way out with her eyes.
It landed on me as I unshrunk the Poke Ball in my hand and pointed towards Ralts and then to the Poke Ball. Ralts was rushing towards me, not bothering to look back at its would-be bullies that attacked it.
I had the Poke Ball held out toward it and, with no hesitation, ran right into it before turning into a blob of red light and being sucked straight into the ball. It didn't bother to struggle even once, just showing how afraid it was...
*BON*
No wiggle, no nothing. Just a distinct pop, and Ralts was caught.
[Ding! You have caught a Ralts!]
*Swooosh*
Without celebrating or relishing in my first step, the Poochyena's howled, "Woo!!!"
*Tmp*
Doing so, it brought its friends along as I saw them growling at us. Treecko looked a bit nervous, but when he looked at Vulpix's confident, smug expression and Eevee's nonchalant attitude, he calmed down.
Multiple glowing red spheres within the greenery surrounded us. They slowly came out, crawling like a predator, their eyes screaming bloody murder. Even a few Mightyena came to play.
Ralts looked inside the Poké Ball, looking terrified. But using my Viridian Force, I calmly stated, grabbing Metang's Poke Ball, "Have no worries, little one… this will be over very shortly. Metang! Let's get to work!"
*Pop*
Metang emerged from its Poké Ball already having Miracle Eye activated. Then followed the power of Gravity.
*THUD*
The invisible force of Gravity weighed down the canine Pokémon. Treecko and Ralts looked stunned as Vulpix grinned eagerly as I ordered, "Alright, gang! Time to take out the trash and a quick training session!"
*Pop*
Hurling Psyduck out of its Poké Ball, it tilted its head dumbly. But when it saw the mobs surrounding us, its eyes were filled with clarity as I ordered, "Psyduck… Surf."
*SPLASH*
Psyduck jumped up, summoning a great wave of water as the Poochyena and Mightyena gulped. Psyduck's eyes narrowed as it quacked, "Quack! (It's Psyduck time!)"
It was safe to say it was grinding time. My Pokémon got to work.

[Hoenn Region, 30 mins Later, Oldale Town - Outskirts]
It only took half an hour, but those Wild Pokémon are not gonna make that mistake fighting someone stronger than them. Not only that, but the grin helped my Pokémon Level up, not by much, considering they were a weak level, but it helped.
After dealing with them, we'd manage to find the gate entrance of Oldale Town. I breathed out in relief, finally finding a place to rest up for tonight in the Pokémon Center.
When I had the chance, I used my Arc Phone Pokedex app to scan my Poké Ball containing Ralts. And it certainly showed its usefulness when the stat info was shown, making me feel happy.
[Ralts the Feeling Pokémon. Ralts uses the horns to read people's and Pokémon's emotions. Warm feelings cause its body to warm as well, but it hides if it senses hostility. If its Trainer is in a cheerful mood, Ralts also becomes cheerful and joyous. It is known to inhabit urban areas, but it does not normally show itself to humans.
However, when it senses happy feelings, it will approach people. Ralts prefers to hang out with people of a cheerful nature more than those with a gloomy nature. Regardless, Ralts will show no discrimination to anyone based on age or gender. When you see a Ralts smiling in its sleep, that means something good has happened during that day.]
|Name: Ralts (Feeling Pokémon)
|Type: Psychic/Fairy
|Level: 6
|Gender: Female
|Held Item: None
|Ability: Telepathy (Hidden Ability)
|Nature: Timid
|Moves: Teleport, Growl, Double Team, Disarming Voice, Confusion, Destiny Bond (IM), Disable (EM) (0 Moves left to learn)
*Thud*
I hit the ground, leaning against the tree as Ralts emerged from her Poké Ball. She spoke, sounding a bit better. She squirmed her hands as she cried out, "Ralts?"
I let out a sigh of relief, dropping to eye level as Ralts repeated its question, "Ralts?"
Ralts was looking at me with a questioning gaze. Smiling and rubbing her head lightly, I asked curiously, "Are you okay?"
Ralts said, nodding her tiny head, "Ralts."
Smiling, I decided to be honest and ask Ralts since I had dragged her with me through the world. Curiously, I asked Ralts, "Hey, Ralts, want to join me? Travel the world, become the very best, and so on?"
Not my best speech, but I would rather be honest with Ralts. After all, to be a great Pokémon Trainer with their Pokémon, one must have drive and trust between the two to strive for greatness ahead.
Ralts tilted her head and stared back at me. It became an awkward staring contest before she finally gave me her answer with a firm nod, along with a happy exclamation of its name, "Raaa... Ralts!"
Laughing lightly, holding onto Ralts, and placing her over my shoulder, I replied happily, "Then glad to have ya onboard, Ralts."
Ralts cheered, "RALTS!"
Having rested enough, I proceeded to leave this path, heading into Oldale Town. Pikachu and Eevee greeted Ralts happily as I had the rest of my Pokémon resting in their Poké Balls after the fight.
Smirking at this feeling, happy, I went ahead to see Oldale Town. Can't wait to see what kind of Pokémon I'll meet along the way.
