Chapter 14 - Chapter 14: The Legacy of the Blade

The sun dipped low behind the mountains, staining the sky with deep shades of crimson.

It was the last day of Kaelen's final training.

His body was battered. His lungs burned with every breath. The entire clearing smelled of sweat, dust, and shattered wood. The final test had been brutal—three hours of continuous combat against Razen without pause.

Kaelen stood, bent slightly, chest heaving. He'd taken dozens of strikes and barely managed to stay standing. But he was standing.

Razen, unscathed as always, looked at him silently for a long moment.

Then, for the first time in months, a faint smirk appeared on his face.

"You've done well," Razen said, his voice carrying quiet weight. "Your body is prepared. Your instincts are sharp. You're ready."

Kaelen straightened, wiping sweat from his brow. "Ready… for what?"

Razen didn't answer. Instead, he turned away. "Follow me."

The Hidden Chamber

Razen led Kaelen deep into the forest, farther than they had ever gone before. The night grew darker, but Razen walked with certainty, as though he knew every root, every stone.

Eventually, they reached a cave hidden behind a waterfall. Razen stepped inside, and Kaelen followed.

The chamber within was silent, ancient, lit by faint torches mounted along the walls. At the center lay a stone pedestal, covered in inscriptions Kaelen couldn't read. Upon it rested a long, black, cloth-wrapped bundle.

Kaelen stared. "What… is this place?"

Razen's voice was low, almost reverent.

"This is where your bloodline's history sleeps."

Kaelen turned sharply to him. "My bloodline?"

Razen nodded. "I suppose it's time you learned the truth."

Razen's Revelation

Razen walked toward the pedestal, resting one hand on the stone.

"Years ago… I wasn't just a shinobi. I was a disciple of your ancestors—the Arclight Clan."

Kaelen's eyes widened.

"Your forefathers were unlike any other warriors," Razen continued. "They wielded lightning itself as an extension of their souls. But power like that… always attracts enemies. Before the fall of your clan, I swore an oath to my master—your great-grandfather Eren Arclight."

Kaelen's breath caught at the name.

"My vow was simple," Razen said quietly. "When the time came… I would find the rightful heir. And I would pass on this."

The Legendary Sword

Razen slowly removed the black cloth, revealing a blade unlike any Kaelen had ever seen.

Its sheath was obsidian black, engraved with ancient lightning runes that glowed faintly in the dim torchlight. When Razen unsheathed it halfway, the blade shimmered like condensed storm clouds, humming with restrained power.

"This sword is called Raizen," Razen said, his voice steady. "Forged by your ancestors over a thousand years ago… it was said to hold the essence of thunder itself."

Kaelen stepped forward slowly, mesmerized. "This… belonged to my family?"

Razen nodded. "It was wielded by your forefathers in every great war. But when your clan fell, it was sealed here, waiting… for you."

He held the blade out, resting it across his palms.

"You have earned the right to wield it, Kaelen Arclight."

Kaelen hesitated for a moment, then stepped forward and took the sword in both hands.

The moment his fingers touched the hilt, a surge of electric energy raced through his veins. Sparks danced across his skin, and his heartbeat roared in his ears.

Razen watched, expression unreadable. "The blade has accepted you."

The Burden of Legacy

Kaelen stood there silently, staring at the weapon that now felt alive in his hands.

Razen placed a hand on his shoulder.

"Listen carefully," he said. "Raizen is not just a weapon. It is a promise. Your ancestors fought to protect this land, and now that duty falls to you."

Kaelen clenched the hilt tightly. "I… I won't fail them."

Razen nodded once. "Good. Then your real journey begins now."

The torches around them flickered as a distant rumble of thunder echoed through the mountains, as though the heavens themselves had acknowledged the passing of the blade.
