Chapter 50 - Ch 50 Whatever has struck, it’s not small

SWOOSH SWOOSH SWOOSH

Several arrows were fired by the archers upon the Karakundra. As those arrows rained down, the karakundra ruthlessly kept rolling towards them while absorbing the inflicted damage from those arrows through its gleaming obsidian spikes. The storm of arrow didn't affect its speed or trajectory even a bit.

The archers didn't stop as they unleashed a turret of arrows upon the Karakundra, but with time the only change that occurred was the Karakundra had now become even more fierce, rolling towards the wall at even more speed. The karakundra's obsidian like spike's began to shine with a purple hue that pulsed through its entire spike armor every second. The purple pulse made it look like a burning explosive that could blast at anytime.

BOOM

The Karakundra ruthlessly bashed into that wall as it unleashed all the force absorbed into its spikes upon the thick defense wall. The collision sent quivers throughout the entire defense wall. Whereas Crevices began to formulate near the spot of collision, spreading into thousands of small cracks like a web. Within just a few seconds the wall hit by the Karakundra crumbled apart as multiple pieces of rock were sprayed around.

Those pieces around down on the ground several meters away whereas some unfortunately also landed upon soldiers, completely crushing there bones and flesh to death. The entire area was carpeted by dense clouds of dust arose from the collision. The karakundra however didn't stop there. The huge spiked ball kept rolling ruthlessly while churning tons of dust, leaving them behind on its trail, the Karakundra mercilessly bashed through the training grounds, soldiers forms, and military barracks, even crushing some weak soldiers into the ground.

As Vijay and Rajhans were in utter disbelief, looking upon the scene unfolding in front of them. Rajhans immediately drew his arrow onto his bow. The bow Rajhans held seemed special with a shining stone attached to its center, and intricate patterns carved out on its surface. The bow was enveloped with a radiant light purple shine making it appear even more mystical.

The purple shine courses through its patterns while gathering on the tip of the arrow. Rajhans let his grip loose, releasing the string that fired the arrow at an enormous speed. The tore through the air while streaking along a purple trail. But it was due to the unpredictable movements of the karakundra that the arrow missed it's target by an inch.

Still as the arrow hit the ground, it released a huge force wave that shattered the nearby things including even the ground itself. The impact tossed the Karakundra away, causing it to barge into a huge nearby stone monument, halting it in its tracks.

"I will handle this beast, get ready, this is not the only one.

"Maybe more are coming!" Rajhans said as he jumped of the tower, sliding through the slanting walls he got to the ground in just a few seconds.

Sohajan stared at the spot where the beast hit the stone monument and disappeared into the debris. Before he could see anything else he was jolted away by Vijay who commanded his clan troops to operate at their fullest, get onto the battlefield, fight the Karakundra and protect civilians from potential danger.

"Sohajan, get yourself armored and get ready!" Vijay ordered him.

Here on the western wall, the archers were hastily shooting arrows towards the dense forest expanding to the horizon in front of them. Mayra who had already given the message from elder Devendra to captain Varma looked tense as she tried to trace the visible movements of a huge thing that moved at an incredible speed through the trees, leaving behind rustling leaves and shaking trees as only trace.

Very soon multiple movements were observed at the throughout the forests, clearly indicating it was a pack of mystical beasts. The very next moment a huge beast emerged out of the dense trees, lunging forward, the mystical beast jumped onto the city wall and plunged it's claws into it. Within just a blink of an eye the beast stood on the city wall tearing through multiple soldiers with a swing of its claws.

The mystical beast had razor sharp fangs that shone like a gleaming blade drenched in human blood, a mix of Saliva and blood was drooling down it's jaws. It had large cold eyes that could shoot the life out of anyone through just a state. The beast had a majestic body covered with silver white furs, and cutting edge sharp claws in all its four paws.

"The silver White wolf!" Mayra exclaimed as she got a proper view of the beast.

But before they could come out of the shock of what had happened, another beast pounced onto the wall. It was not a mere beast, but a moving mountain, a living calamity of stone and fury. The land crawler was as tall as a fortress gate, and as long as a collapsed temple corridor. With a body carved in jagged stone armor, each plate uneven like a cracked canyon wall, it had sharp ridges that jutted out across its spine, providing more flexibility for movements.

It's limbs were thick and brutal, four on each side, shaped like blunt chisels and drills, designed not for running but for breaking and tearing through solid earth and defense. It's movement left behind a sunken crater. It's head was a blunt wedge with a hanging jaw layered with grinding stone fangs, capable of chewing through rocks and men alike. Two deep set lava like eyes sat on either side of its head, simmering rage. Whereas it's tail ended into a brutal club with variety of sharp and massive stone clumped together, which was used to flatten everything behind it with a single sweep.

The land crawler completely shattered the defense walls as it collided in crumbling the massive stone bricks under its fangs. The spun around, sweeping it's club like tail over the entire area, ruthlessly flattening the monuments and structure that came in it way. The land crawler then charged forward and took a slight leap before it dug its limbs into the ground and drilled inside within just an instant.

This caused massive shockwaves to be spread around. The surrounding land was completely splintered as the land crawler dug a massive hole and crawled inside it, and the mountain like testament of calamity disappeared in just a few seconds. Before everyone else could drift out of the awe of what had just happened, the silver white wolf raised its head, letting a loud ear banging howl that echoed throughout the entire region.

The wolf then jumped off the defense wall, landing into the camps. With a single sweep of its paw, it's claws tore the metal armored soldiers like a tofu, spreading fountains of blood everywhere. The beast left behind savaged bodies with their flesh torn apart and lying around in pieces, with blood oozing out of them unstoppably, coming together and turning into streams of blood that painted the battlefield red as the wolf ravaged it's way through.

Her, the northern defense camps were completely obliterated and flattened to dust by the Karakundra. At that time, Vijay and Rajhans took the opportunity when the karakundra was not curled up in a spiked ball and pounced onto it, launching their most fierce attacks.

Sohajan was helping injured soldiers, and carrying them to safety while even reflecting some of huge rocks that came flying at them because of the karakundra's destruction. It was when he went to an injured royal soldier to help him, another massive rock came flying at him. Sohajan acted out haphazardly and evaded the projectile. Unfortunately the massive rock fell on the royal soldiers and completely crushed him. Sohajan could do nothing but just look in utter shock.

KABOOM

A Tearing explosion shattered the air as it's roar echoed throughout the city as if the land itself had been cracked open. It was deep and jarring, sending ripples throughout the entire area, causing a few layers of the to crumble down into huge craters.

Feeling the trembling ground below him, Sohajan's head snapped towards the source. In a distance, a massive dust cloud surged upward, rising like a dark pillar into the sky. Massive waves of dust rolled out everywhere, and the ground beneath him seemed to hum with its echo.

Sohajan leaped forward, taking shelter behind a huge broken wall to protect himself from the force of the wave released from the explosion. The massive waves surged through like a dust storm, completely blocking his visibility.

As the waves passed away Sohajan immediately stood up, looking into the direction of the explosion. He squinted, his eyes narrowing against the swirling haze. The thick cloud if dust had now just covered the entire area of explosion, not allowing even a single ray of light to pass through them. Under the dark clouds, the dust seemed like a black shadow that had engulfed the city.

Sohajan somehow at last caught a few glimpses of the blast zone through the thick curtain of dust, as he observed, his eyes widened with his increasing heartbeat, that spot was no where else but near the Skambha clan base, Sohajan clenched his hands. Whatever had struck…. It wasn't small.
