A shadow clone?"
Obito's cheek twitched. He didn't understand Yu's intent, so he leapt back several times.
He had been looking for an opening to enter the Kamui dimension, but in the next instant, Yu struck again from behind.
"Another shadow clone?"
Obito didn't dare meet Yu's eyes directly, even if it was just a clone.
He countered with Wood Release. Just by making contact with Yu's black blade, he could analyze whether this Yu was real or a clone through the force of the blow.
At the port—
Obito dodged the shadow clone's assault, moving like a butterfly—light and agile.
Elsewhere—
Down a shadowy alley covered in white mist, the real Yu walked away with Suigetsu in tow.
His eyes had already changed—one bearing the pattern of his Yasakani, the other Kamui.
Just moments earlier—
When Yu saw Obito absorb Suigetsu into the Kamui dimension, his real body had hidden in the mist while his shadow clones attacked.
During that time, Yu slipped into the Kamui dimension and quietly extracted Suigetsu—saving himself the trouble of fighting over the Jinchūriki later.
Yu glanced down at the dazed Suigetsu and marked him with an Yasakani imprint—but didn't break Obito's illusion.
"With the Three-Tails secured, next is the Six-Tails…" Yu looked into the mist ahead, pondering where Obito might be hiding the Six-Tails' Jinchūriki.
Strictly speaking—
Even capturing the Jinchūriki wasn't enough; only by sealing the Three-Tails into his own body could he truly feel secure.
The method of sealing the Three-Tails was a tailed beast sealing technique passed down in Kirigakure, but to Uchiha Yu, it was meaningless. He could use the spiritual manipulation of the Yasakani to make Suigetsu undo the seal himself.
Swish—
Within the white mist, countless figures flickered and darted toward the harbor.
Uchiha Yu stood in the shadowed alleyway entrance with Suigetsu, watching the silhouettes vanish.
Just as the two were about to leave—
From a window in the alley came the frightened cry of a child: "Mom… what's happening outside?"
"Shh, don't be scared, don't be scared, it'll be fine when the sun comes up." The woman's voice clearly trembled, but she still whispered to comfort.
Uchiha Yu paused briefly, then left the alley with Suigetsu, walking through the night.
Perhaps after this night, the oppressive gloom hanging over this shinobi village would finally be lifted forever.
At the harbor, as over fifty Kirigakure high-ranking officials controlled by Obito's genjutsu arrived, Uchiha Yu's final shadow clone dissipated on its own.
"Hm?"
Obito steadied his breath and looked around, finding no sign of Uchiha Yu's true body.
This puzzled him deeply.
He couldn't figure it out.
So he chose not to dwell on it.
Obito scanned the present Kirigakure officials and had them search for Uchiha Yu's traces.
Immediately after, he activated his Kamui space and phased into it, hoping to use his ocular ability to leave Kirigakure first.
The Kamui dimension was dark and silent.
Obito felt something was missing.
A moment later—
"Where is he?!"
Obito shouted in shock and fury, frantically scanning the surroundings, only to realize in disbelief that the Hozuki Suigetsu he had previously sent into the space had vanished.
"That brat was under my genjutsu… I personally sent him into this space! Why is he gone?!"
"Could he have been transferred elsewhere?"
"This has never happened before!"
Bewildered and unsure, Obito paced along the stone platform of the Kamui space and finally confirmed—Hozuki Suigetsu had mysteriously disappeared.
"Aaaargh!!!"
Obito tore off his mask, his eyes bloodshot, fists clenched in rage as he roared furiously.
After the madness passed, he calmed himself and carefully reviewed the details of his encounter with Uchiha Yu.
"Could it be… Uchiha Yu entered my space? No, there's no way he could have."
Obito nervously looked around.
This place was the only one in the shinobi world that gave him a sense of security—it was a space born of his Mangekyō Sharingan, and only he could control it.
No one else could interfere.
Obito's face darkened as he looked down at the mask in his hand. Regaining his composure, he muttered:
"He must've snatched the Jinchūriki while I was using my ability—so fast that I couldn't detect it?"
"No wonder he only fought me with shadow clones afterward."
"But this level of speed… aside from the Fourth Hokage, who else in the shinobi world could possibly do it?"
"…Still, this confirms it—Uchiha Yu came to Kirigakure most likely for the tailed beast."
As Obito finished speaking, his expression gradually returned to calm. He raised the mask and put it back on.
He was relieved he hadn't brought the Six-Tails Jinchūriki with him—otherwise, everything would have been lost.
Time and space twisted.
Obito exited the Kamui space and headed west.
He feared Uchiha Yu had left a trace on him, so he didn't dare go directly to the Six-Tails.
Instead, he took a parallel route in the same direction to observe from afar.
…
Near a park, surrounded by tall buildings, in a clearing—
Boom—
An orange-red Susanoo gripped the Totsuka Blade and effortlessly sealed several pursuing Kirigakure elites.
From within the tall buildings, ordinary civilians hiding at home witnessed this and were left breathless with fear.
Although Kirigakure had long been shrouded in terror, ever since the Kaguya Clan's rebellion, no one had dared so brazenly kill Mist shinobi in the village itself.
Within the Susanoo, Uchiha Yu scanned the surroundings. He didn't care about the civilians' stares.
Once he confirmed there were no more genjutsu-controlled high-ranking officials nearby, he released a White Zetsu from the genjutsu world of the Totsuka Blade.
White Zetsu lay on the ground, its pupils immediately displaying the seal of the Yasakani before returning to normal.
It stood up as if no different from any other Zetsu—completely silent.
"Where is the Six-Tails Jinchūriki?"
Uchiha Yu asked.
"I don't know."
White Zetsu shook its head.
This was the same White Zetsu that had resided in Yagura's
body.
"What about the locations of the other Zetsu?"
Yu continued questioning.
"Yes."
The White Zetsu under mental control answered truthfully.
"Take me there!"
"Understood—"
White Zetsu turned to face the west. Yu dismissed his Susanoo, concealed himself in the shadows along with Suigetsu, and followed.
…
Kirigakure.
Western port.
White Zetsu led Yu to a warehouse.
Along the way, Yu had already transformed himself to appear as Masked Obito. After confirming that all the remaining White Zetsu in Kirigakure were inside the warehouse, Yu approached the entrance with Suigetsu and White Zetsu. White Zetsu pushed open the heavy iron doors.
In the distance.
From the rooftop of another warehouse, the real Obito used his Mangekyō Sharingan to observe through the mist. Upon seeing this scene, he was nearly enraged to the point of spitting blood and immediately slipped into Kamui space.
Clang—
The metal doors creaked open.
Inside the warehouse, six Kirigakure ninja disguised by White Zetsu were standing guard over a middle-aged Mist ninja seated in a chair, caught in a genjutsu.
Behind the mask, Yu's eyes narrowed slightly as his gaze fell upon the restrained ninja.
Just as he suspected—if the Six-Tails jinchūriki wasn't with Obito, then he had to be either guarded by White Zetsu or taken elsewhere.
"It's Obito…"
Among the six White Zetsu impersonators, one let out a breath of relief and stepped forward to greet him.
"Yes, I'm here to retrieve the Six-Tails jinchūriki."
Yu spoke in Obito's voice. As he did, and while the White Zetsu were distracted, a red gleam flickered beneath his mask—patterns of Yasakani Magatama flaring in his pupils.
The six White Zetsu were instantly placed under his control.
"Obito, what are you doing?"
One of them, frozen in place, questioned him with confusion.
The next moment—
To their shock, another Obito emerged from a distortion in space, appearing behind the jinchūriki. The Zetsus could no longer tell which was the real one.
Yu looked over at Obito.
He wasn't surprised by his appearance. Of course Obito wouldn't sit back and let him take the Six-Tails.
At that moment, Obito had already placed his right hand on the Mist ninja's abdomen and begun performing a seal-removal technique.
Standing behind the jinchūriki, Obito shot Yu a sideways glance as he worked, his voice cold:
"Didn't you want a tailed beast too? Then here—take it."
