Chapter 153 - Chapter 153: Eda the Owl Lady

[3rd POV]

With her counterpart leaving the shop for the day, Wanda decided that it was time to get a new universe connected to the shop. She planned on trying to connect one new universe to her shop every month or two for the next year, until she stops.

She already had a lot of universes connected, but she wanted some variety. As there was one area that she was severely lacking in when it came to guests from other universes.

And that is animated universes, more specifically, ones that were magical in nature. She had a few ideas in mind originally when she had thought over what she wanted to connect her shop with.

The first to come to mind was Steven Universe. An interesting universe that had a lot of neat oddities that would make it a very interesting new universe to connect to. With the gems and everything else in that place, Wanda was certain that she could get all sorts of new knowledge to use and learn from.

But it was also a universe that had nothing beyond that, no magic, purely advanced science through the gems.

And while sure, that sounded interesting, it was not interesting enough for Wanda to go for it.

She did want to eventually connect to that place, as she was certain that there was some science that she would be interested in learning. And the Crystal Gems would surely be a fun group to interact with. But that would need to come in the future.

The other universe that came to mind was one that was far far far stronger, had magic, and was very interesting. It had tons and tons of odd and unique pieces of technology that is completely unlike what she had seen so far.

The universe of Ben 10.

It was a powerful universe, with several entities inside that could atomize universes casually, and nigh-omnipotent entities existed all over the place. Alien X was the first to come to mind, and one that Wanda was very interested in seeing in person.

But again, it just didn't have what she really wanted.

It had magic, sure, but it was not a purely magical world. It was more so reliant on science, and it was science that made the most interesting objects work. Like the omnitrix and its various variants. The omnitrix itself was at the top of her list for souvenirs that she wanted to find and grab for herself.

There was the omnitrix, the Elder Wand from Harry Potter, the Infinity Stones from Marvel, a Devil Fruit from One Piece, and a few more. But the Omnitrix was at the very top of her list.

But in the end, she decided against Ben 10, instead, she had chosen a different world that she decided could be fun to interact with. And funnily enough, a world that her shop would fit right in with, one that she wouldn't even need to bother hiding her shop's oddity due to the already unique nature of that place.

And that world is...

The Owl House.

She remembered watching the show in her last life, and loving it. Beyond the fact that the story and magic in the world was very interesting, she adored the absolutely adorable relationship between Luz and Amity, which was widely known as "Lumity".

It was one of her favorite animated shows of all time. Up there with the likes of Gravity Falls, Ben 10, Steven Universe, Slugterra, and Star vs the Forces of Evil.

Eventually the first and last of that list would be added to her list of universes, that much she knew for a fact.

After connecting her shop to the Owl House universe, she just had to wait for someone to come on through. The shop would be blatantly out in the open, so it shouldn't be taking that long.

Which is why Wanda is currently sipping on her morning coffee, reading another of the books she had gotten in the world of Dragon Ball. This one was on the complexity of demonic magics. It was quite the curious book.

As she read through the book, Wanda heard the door to her shop slam open, as her eyebrow raised as she gazed up. Only to find a woman with a large head of white hair walking towards her, and this woman was of course, the one and only...

Eda the Owl Lady

"Hello there, welco-" Wanda was cut off, as the woman glared at her.

"What's your problem?" Eda asked, anger clear in her tone as Wanda blinked.

"My problem? I don't believe I follow" Wanda responded, a little confused, she hadn't really checked where she put her door. She kinda just puts it wherever, which meant she might be here because...

"Your door to...whatever the heck this place is! It's right next to my stall, like, not even three feet away! So, I ask again, what's your problem, butting into my stalls area?" Eda asked again, as Wanda blinked.

"Oh that? I apologize, I kinda just shoved it wherever. I'll have it fixed now. But next time, why don't you actually just ask me nicely? I would have moved it if you just asked, instead of acting so rude about it, Miss Clawthorne" Wanda responded, snapping her finger, as in Edna's world, the door moved farther to the right, in an opening where no stall was next to it, so it wouldn't get in the way of the business of others.

That way they can still safely run their businesses without having to worry about her stealing any of their potential customers, like with Eda.

"Wait what? Just like that? You aren't going to argue and we're not going to break out into a fight? That's...so boring!" Eda exclaimed, having fully been expecting a fight to break out with the owner of this shop.

She was kind of hoping for it to be honest, Titan knows she had been bored for the past few days.

"No? Why would I, it was my fault. And I saw no reason to argue about something so small. And I'd hate to take the potential business of others" Wanda responded with a shrug, not really minding her initial attitude, as it was clear that it was kind of valid.

She didn't blame anger directed at her, if it was actually valid. Like in this case. She would have naturally been mad too if her business was being impeded due to someone else.

"That's...way fairer than most would act. Kinda weird actually" Eda said with narrowed eyes, as she began to look over Wanda with appraising eyes, wondering if there was something about the woman that was special.

And after looking for a few moments, she stopped when she saw her ears, as realization settled in.

"Wait...you're a human!" Eda exclaimed, now understanding what made her weird. A human hadn't been seen in the Boiling Isles in like...forever!

"I wouldn't say that exactly. But I suppose I am in a way" Wanda replied with a small amused expression on her face. She was well beyond a human, being a God of sorts, but in Eda's eyes, that is likely what she appeared to be.

"Okay, now I am really curious, how'd a human get here, and how did you make this place? I've never seen anything like it, and that's saying a lot! Not only that, but how did you even use magic? I thought humans couldn't do magic" Eda said, realizing that Wanda was definitely not a normal human.

"I made it through magic, I got here through magic, and like I said, I am not exactly a human. I'm something a bit...more, but in your eyes, I'd appear closer to a human than that of a Witch or Demon" Wanda answered with a casual shrug.

She didn't see the harm in answering some questions from a woman that was obviously very confused at the moment.

"So what are you then? If you aren't a human, aren't a witch, and aren't a demon, then there ain't anything else you can be besides a titan or something. And the only Titan I know is a hell of a lot bigger than you, and is dead" Eda said, growing more and more confused the longer she talked to this woman.

"You can think of me as a sort of...entity. I won't be explaining it, but just know that I run this store that connects to all sorts of places, and has magics that you can not even begin to comprehend. Ones that even you, the Owl Lady, have never heard of. And said magics can either be bought through the currencies native to your world, or through an exchange of either books from your world, or knowledge from your very own mind. The more I see value in the book or knowledge, the more credit you get" Wanda responded, as Eda raised an eyebrow and began to look around.

She did notice a LOT of books that seemed very interesting to her.

"And I also carry books about curses, which I do believe someone of your...nature will find interesting" Wanda added, as Eda's head snapped to her, eyes narrowing.

"How do you-" "Like I said, Eda, I am not human. Just know that there are many books in my collection that can help deal with that curse of yours. Be it through magic, or through alchemy, you will find a way to get rid of it through one of them" Wanda cut her off with a raise of her hand.

Hearing her words, Eda glanced at the large bookshelves of books, before beginning to walk over, but not before speaking to Wanda.

"Alright...I'll look at your books. But just know, if you're leading me on, I'm going to beat you up" Eda warned, before walking to the magic section, more specifically, the curses section.

Hearing her words, Wanda just giggled, watching her walk off with one thought on her mind.

'This'll be an interesting next few days~'
