Odette rarely ate meat in her old pack. Everybody in her pack had their own wolves, so they had superior physical strength and senses, making it suitable to hunt for animals.
Unfortunately, she had none of that. She was no better than a weak human. She knew her parents would've given her their share of meat, but she refrained herself, knowing that her parents spent so much time hunting for the pack.
Besides, Odette would rather give those meat to the cubs, knowing that they needed them the most to grow strong.
Thus, Odette always foraged for edible plants in the forest all by herself. If she was lucky, she'd spot some animal carcass freshly killed and half-eaten by a predator nearby.
She would use her knife to cut the unspoiled part of the meat and bring it home to cook. It was a tough life, but it made her adept with many unconventional skills owned by a werewolf, such as foraging, healing, cooking, et cetera.
