Chapter 10 - chapter 10: Midnight with princess

The city of Serenaris was alive with the flickering glow of distant lights as midnight approached. In a large, opulent mansion, the faint candlelight danced across the room. A soft glow emanated from the bed, where a woman lay under the sheets, her body barely covered by the fabric. One of her legs hung loosely off the bed, her form exposed to the cool night air, her mind still heavy from the dreams that plagued her sleep.

Soyang, ever the enigma, stood in front of a mirror, adjusting his clothes. His cold, calculating gaze examined his reflection for a moment before he spoke into the silence. "System, how many girls are left for dual cultivation?" he asked, his voice dripping with an almost bored curiosity.

The system's response was swift, as always. "There are only 30 girls left for cultivation, host."

Soyang nodded in acknowledgment, a smirk creeping onto his lips. He walked towards the window and, without a second thought, leapt out, vanishing into the shadows of the night. His destination was unclear, but his mind was already racing with plans. The world outside his personal affairs was always ripe with opportunities, and tonight, something piqued his interest.

The scene shifted to the next morning, where Soyang found himself sitting at a small restaurant, a bowl of steaming food in front of him. As he chewed, his ears caught the sounds of a nearby conversation. Four men, sitting at a table, were engrossed in hushed tones, their voices laced with gossip.

"Hey, man, have you heard about the rumors? A lot of girls… they're becoming pregnant without any explanation," one of them said, his voice barely above a whisper.

Another nodded, speaking with a mix of fear and awe. "Yeah, it's true. Some people even tried to kill the babies, but nothing worked. The children survived, and so did the mothers. There's a curse that comes with it. Anyone who tries to harm them is doomed."

The group fell silent for a moment, the weight of the conversation sinking in.

"I heard one family tried to kill a child and the whole damn family was cursed. Everyone's terrified now. No one dares touch the women or their children," one of them whispered, glancing around nervously.

Soyang, whose attention had shifted to their words, leaned back in his chair, eyes narrowing. He mused silently, "Why haven't the rumors spread about Twinkle and Lian Ru then?" He was still puzzled. "System, why are they exempt?"

The system, ever matter-of-fact, responded. "Because they belong to powerful families and sects. Their reputations would crumble if these rumors spread. But they are family is smaller. The rumors spread easily."

Soyang gave a cold chuckle, his eyes glinting with amusement. "So, I'm a little fish in a small pond, huh?"

The conversation around him shifted to talk of a mysterious figure, someone responsible for this inexplicable phenomenon. "There's a bounty on this person's head," one man said. "Many are trying to capture him. Some say he has the power to impregnate any woman, and they want him dead."

Soyang raised an eyebrow. A reward? Interesting.

"System, who is this lucky girl now?" he asked, the curiosity growing within him.

The system's voice rang out, a touch of intrigue in its tone. "The lucky girl is the princess of this continent, Host."

Soyang's eyes widened in shock. "What? The princess? Why her?"

The system explained, "She is known to be incredibly arrogant, refusing to show any vulnerability in public. She is also coveted by many, which makes her a prime candidate for your... cultivation."

Soyang smiled, a wicked grin spreading across his face. "Well, well... the princess, huh? This is going to be interesting."

Later that night, Soyang found himself moving like a shadow through the grand halls of the Kashal palace. He had done his research, and he knew exactly where to find the princess's private quarters. The palace was quiet, the halls devoid of life as he slinked through, unseen by the guards and servants. He reached a chamber where a maid, carrying the princess's dress, was walking down the hallway. Soyang's eyes gleamed, and without a sound, he struck.

He swiftly incapacitated the maid, dragging her into the shadows before she could utter a word. With the maid out of the way, Soyang crept to the princess's room. He positioned himself behind a grand mirror, watching her every move.

The princess, an image of regal beauty, stood before her vanity, her reflection staring back at her as the maid began preparing for her departure. Soyang, hidden in the shadows, observed intently.

As the maid left the room, Soyang remained, his presence unnoticed. The princess, now alone, took a moment to prepare herself for bed. But to his surprise, she began something entirely different. She undressed, her movements slow and deliberate. Then, without hesitation, she began to seduce herself. The display was as much a moment of indulgence as it was a clear invitation to the power that Soyang held.

Soyang watched, bemused, the corners of his mouth twitching into a smirk. His internal monologue was laced with sarcasm. Well, she certainly is full of fire. Now, it's time to tame that fire.

He moved from the shadows, his steps silent as he approached her. The princess, lost in her own actions, didn't notice his presence until he was almost upon her. When she finally did, she froze for a moment, her body reacting to the intruder, yet unable to stop herself. She glanced at him, but she couldn't move, couldn't resist.

Soyang slowly, almost theatrically, reached her, his fingers brushing lightly against her skin. The princess's breath caught in her throat, her mind confused, but her body was already yielding. Her internal battle was apparent, but she couldn't escape it.

With a final resigned sigh, the princess allowed herself to fall into the flow of the moment.

The scene then faded to black.

---

The next morning, the sun shone through the windows, its golden rays spilling into the princess's room. The maid entered with her usual briskness, but as she moved closer to the bed, she froze in shock.

The princess, normally an early riser, was still in bed, a rare sight. The maid quickly moved to her side, shaking her gently to wake her up. "Your Highness, it's time to rise."

The princess stirred, sitting up slowly. Her eyes were wide with confusion as she glanced down at herself. The shock on her face was unmistakable as she realized she was fully clothed, something she hadn't remembered doing the night before. She also remembered vague, confusing flashes of a man, but the details were unclear.

"What… what happened last night?" she whispered to herself, her face paling as she recalled something intimate. "I was with someone… but I don't remember his face."

The maid, sensing the gravity of the situation, asked cautiously, "What shall we do, Your Highness? The King will find out."

The princess's heart sank. The weight of the potential scandal was unbearable. She stood abruptly, her face set with determination. "If my father finds out, I'll be killed," she muttered bitterly. "I must leave this place. I can't stay here any longer."

And so, she fled.

---

In the following days, rumors of the princess's sudden disappearance spread throughout the kingdom. Her absence was met with both fear and curiosity. The king and queen, upon discovering that their daughter was not only missing but pregnant, were left in a state of panic. The king, furious and desperate, sent his forces to search for her.

"It's a good thing she escaped," the queen muttered darkly, "or I would have had her killed myself."

Meanwhile, Soyang, ever the shadow, slipped away unnoticed from the city of Serenaris, his work done.
