Ezzy woke up with a slight headache. She opened her eyes and looked around. The place didn't look familiar.
This doesn't look like my room, she thought.
She tried to remember where she was but that only increased her headache. She heard a shallow breathing beside her. She turned to look and saw Drayce sleeping peacefully his face half hidden by his hair. Memories of what had happened the previous day flooded back to her. She slapped her hand on her face, blaming herself for drinking too much.
Drayce stirred beside her. He opened his eyes and stared at her, his expression blank. He yawned and got out of bed.
" Good morning " Ezzy said.
This was so awkward.
Drayce didn't reply. He just nodded. Ezzy sat up on the bed. She noticed that she was wearing a shirt that was three times her size. It probably belonged to Drayce because it smelt like him.
Ezzy's eyes widened. She was wearing Drayce's shirt which meant he had undressed her.
" Did you..." She began asking but he cut her short saying,
" No I didn't. I got one of the maids to help you "
Ezzy breathed a sigh of relief. It was already awkward waking up in his room. Him undressing her would have made it more awkward.
" Thanks " She said suddenly feeling very shy.
Drayce walked into the bathroom and shut the door. Ezzy got up immediately the bathroom door closed. She came out of his room and went downstairs. She was surprised to see Ria in the sitting room drinking tea.
" Ria?" She called out.
" Ezzy?" Ria said looking equally surprised.
" What are you doing here?" They asked each other at once.
" Well Andre brought me here " Ria replied first. " And him bringing me here is perfectly alright because we're Alpha and mate "
" Oh please " Ezzy said rolling her eyes at the alpha and mate part.
" So who brought you here?" Ria asked. " I know it definitely wasn't Vaelor "
" Well it was Drayce " Ezzy said.
" Woah. Love is in the air " Ria sang.
" Oh please. Cut the crap "
Ria chuckled. Ezzy picked up the teapot on the table and poured herself some tea. It had rained all night and was still raining till now. She sat down with Ria just sipping their tea in silence.
" Well, well, well " An all too familiar voice said. " What a pleasant surprise "
Ezzy and Ria turned to see Vaelor Mythrandir standing at the top of the stairs in a hoodie and sweatpants.
" What are you doing here?" Ezzy asked surprised to see him.
" I should actually be the one asking that question " Vaelor said teleporting to where they sat. " What are you doing at my house "
" Your house?" Ria asked
" Yes darling my house " Vaelor said. " The house that I share with my brother and his friends "
" Who is your brother?" Ezzy asked looking confused.
" Don't tell me you don't know Drayce is my brother. Like same mother same father "
Ezzy and Ria's mouths dropped wide open. So the rumors were actually true. But they never acted like they knew each other. And Drayce always looks at Vaelor like he's about to pounce in him. The didn't even have the same surname.
" But Drayce doesn't even like you " Ezzy said.
" Now who told you that?" Vaelor asked looking amused.
" That's because of how he acts around you"
" Well he's not always like that. He was just a little upset because I asked you to be my valentine date. He wanted to ask you first but he was a little too slow " Vaelor said.
" You're talking too much " Drayce said frowning.
" What?" Vaelor asked. " Don't you want the kid to know how much you wanted to go with her? "
" One of these days I'm going to kill you like really kill you " Drayce said sitting on a sofa.
" You'd miss me terribly if I died "
" Don't be delusional "
" Can't someone have a little rest without you guys arguing " Estevan asked coming downstairs. He looked so grumpy.
Mona, Oleta, Kairos and Andre also came downstairs. Turns out Mona and Oleta had also spent the night here after they had gotten drunk.
They all sat down in the sitting room, talking and sipping their tea. Oleta suddenly asked
" Guys how do we go about the whole reincarnation stuff?"
" I've also been wondering " Mona said
" You guys don't have to think too much. " Vaelor said. " The answer is right in front of you. One of you just needs to discover herself " He was looking directly at Ezzy.
" Why are you looking at me like the message is meant for me?" She asks.
" It actually is, chosen one " Vaelor said.
" Chosen one?" Ezzy repeats. " I'm not chosen for anything "
" Yes you are "
" What does discovering myself mean?" Ezzy asked getting very confused.
" I've said all I can say " Vaelor said. " And you might want to start asking your mom certain questions "
" About what?"
" I don't know, Esmeralda but there must be something you've been wanting to know for sometime that she hasn't been telling you "
Ezzy thought for a while and her eyes widened,
" My father. I've been wanting to know about him "
" There you have it. Find out about your father Esme it will lead to start of your journey "
" How do you know that?" Estevan asked.
" I know every single thing about all of you but I can't reveal it because it will change the course of destiny " Vaelor said.
The eight of them looked from one person to the other. Could this be the beginning of their journey?
