(Somewhere in the universe)
In an seemingly open space filled with magma and flames, a figure was sitting atop a throne made up of rocks with a staff resting in his lap. The figure's eyes were different than the usual norm, having blood red sclera and deep black irises. Adorned with two sharp horns emerging from his forehead and curving upward spirally.
The figure was looking at a crystal ball embedded in his staff. His eyes having a frown while looking at it.
At the same time, another figure having similar facial features as him came from the sky. The figure came towards him and bowed before him before stating respectfully.
"O, Great Shaman! There has been some disturbances observed in the previous demon king's resting place."
"What disturbances are you talking about, General?" Asked the Shaman with a nonchalant expression.
"Hi- His body disintegrated and turned into ashes all of a sudden!" The General replied
The Shaman looked in his direction and took a long sigh before saying
"So his words were true, huh... General! someone has recently used the previous king's ability. Search every corner of this universe if you have to but I want that being!"
The General's face looked normal but as he processed the words and understood their meaning, his expression turned grave as if he had seen his worst nightmare.
"Is it true? O, Great Shaman? Shouldn't we inform his majesty?" The General asked.
"No. His majesty is already in the middle of war with the sea dwellers. We can't distract him at such a crucial time. Gather some scouts and send them to every planet under our control first." The Shaman said and gave his instructions.
"Your wish is my command! O, Great Shaman." The General said as he bowed again before vanishing into the skies.
The Shaman was again left alone in his own company. He again looked at the crystal and mumbled
"Why now? Why the previous king's powers? Why can't it be someone else's?...He has to be eliminated sooner or there will be grave consequences for everyone, not just us demons."
His words carrying myriad of questions, some filled with distraught while some filled with fear. But alas his questions were unanswered leaving him with his panic alone.
___________
Inside a vast forest filled with gigantic trees spamming hundreds of metres long, a young man was was lying silently beside a pond.
The whole scenario looked peaceful untill one looked at the young man's neck. His neck was missing a circular portion of it as if pierced by some blade.
In this serene enviornment, his body suddenly started shooking all of a sudden for a few seconds and went limp again. After a few seconds he abruptly woke up and started breathing rapidly.
"I'm not going to do that ever again." He screamed amid his breaths.
He groggily got up on his feet and looked around with vigilance. He could hear terrifying roars coming from a distance which seems to terrify him, but he couldn't seem to guess the kind of animal it was from it's roar alone. His body tensed, seemingly ready to flee at any moment.
"Where the fuck am i?" He questioned himself while keeping an eye on his vicinity.
As if that wasn't all, a sharp pain rose in his head all of a sudden. The memories he needed so badly before flooded into his mind at once. The man pressed his head with both of his hands as if trying to lower the pain, but his actions were all in vain. The pain continued for a few minutes before he gained some of his clarity.
He sat down on the ground in a relaxed manner and arranged his thoughts in a orderly manner. Only after he did all this did he understood the situation he was in.
"So... this is Atlantis?" He suddenly said, surprised by this fact himself.
Next he tried to gain some information about the body he is occupying
"His name is ...oh! Same as mine. that's some good news. He is an orphan.... that skill really did it!"
"He lives in the outskirts of the pheonix kingdom...he never went outside his village except this time when he awakened and came to the forest to test his skill...okay so far so good." Klaus nodded his head while searching for memories.
"He got a [Blue]-Grade skill, [Flame Kick] which is a pretty good rank for people here.... So he should be kind of famous here huh!"
Although the previous body's Klaus didn't see many use of this skill, the current Klaus had already thought of so many things he cokld do with it. He continued his analysis further.
"He came to this pond to recover from his fatigue but saw a clawing boar and attacked it thinking of making it as his first kill. Ohh the clawing boar is a [Blue]-ranked monster with claws sharper than swords. With adult boars boasting a minimum height of 10 metres."
Klaus felt that the previous owner was an idiot. Like who would want to fight some big and strong monster as a newbie even when you have an above average skill. Klaus continued to decode more intel continuously
"So, he foolishly attacked the boar and got a claw in his neck and died on the spot. Wait! Neck?"
Klaus subconsciously moved his hands towards his neck but after feeling nothing missing did he took a sigh of relief.
"Did the hole mend it by itself?" He was amazed thinking about this fact
Klaus finished probing the memories and got up on his feet and moved towards the edge of the pond to drink some water. His steps being calm and serene as he moved there. Klaus reached the edge and looked into the water, there, a young man with just above average looks was staring right at him.
"Come on, my face is not even handsome. How will I get the ladies here?" Klaus groaned openly
"No, let's look at the positive side. At least I didn't get some ugly piggy face. That would've eliminated my chance to woo the ladies before even trying. Yes yes this way better compared to that." Klaus tried to remain positive, positive, positive but
"No fuck it! Aaagghhh! It's still not good. My romance arc is doomed!" Klaus cried some crocodile tears while lamenting on his looks.
After some time and fake tears later, Klaus's stomach grumbled a little.
"Come on, not now. what will I eat in the middle of this nowhere?" He grumbled again but in the end decided to hunt for some small animal in his vicinity.
"Oh yeah! The flame like skill, I haven't tried it yet." Realisation dawned on him as he quickly decided to get familiar with his skill to hunt efficiently.
But just as Klaus got into action, another realisation hit him
"How do I activate my skill? Last time I just wished and it happened. What do I do now?"
"Flame Kick!!!" Klaus shouted
Time passed. Some more time passed. Some more time passed but nothing happened. Klaus's face looked like he had eaten a fly and he covered his face with his palms.
"Aggghhh! That was so embarrassing. It was a boon that nobody is around." Klaus cries were heard from being his palms.
"What do I do now? Do I just wish it again? Let's try it!"
Klaus wished to use his skill and this time the air around his feets got hotter untill fire was seen on them.
"Aaaaaaahhhh! Fire. Fire. Help! Huh.. it isn't burning me. MAGIC!"
Kalus laughed like a manic for some time seeing that.
He calmed down and looked at his feet. It was covered in a blue flames. He marvelled at the scene for a few moments and jumped suddenly.
Klaus hoped to jump one or two metres but contrary to his expectations, he jumped for a total of 6 metres. Klaus loved it at first and jumped a dozen times following that while laughing maniacally.
"That was too cool. What else can this do?" He stopped jumping and was quite excited for the next thing.
Klaus looked around and saw a tree relatively thin than others. He went towards it and stopped a few metres from it. Next, klaus activated his skill and ran towards it. He felt like he was running twice as fast than his normal speed and reached in front of the tree in an instant.
When Klaus was just as he was a single step away from the tree, he jumped.
When he reached his maximum height of 8 metres, he spinned his body anticlockwise and extended his right leg outwards, which was still covered in untamed blue flames.
BAAM!
His flaming feet connected with the wooden exterior and tore through it ruthlessly, but the momentum behind his legs didn't stop and he continued. His legs penetrated deeper into the tree, tearing the wood in a gruesome manner.
Klaus started feeling resistance some from the tree after his legs went through half of the tree and he quickly pulled back his feet and landed on his spot, from where he jumped.
Klaus felt a strong sense of euphoria inside him just as he landed on his feet.
But his celebration was interrupted by the sound of something cracking, he looked up and saw cracks spreading on the tree ina straight line horizontally from the point where his strike landed.
His eyes followed the cracks untill a loud eerie snap was heard and the upper part of the tree started recling to the direction opposite to him.
Initially, the speed was slow but as time passed on, the inertia shifted and the tree fell into two halves.
when the tree fell, Klaus was left with his mouth agape. The part of tree from where it snapped still had little amount of smoke rising from it as if displaying It's perpetrator.
"HAHAHAHAHAHA!" Klaus laughed like a maniac after witnessing the power he has now control over.
His laughter was interrupted by his grumbling stomach and he was forced to divert his focus to the main mission- which was to gather food.
With his skill testing complete, Klaus was finally ready to hunt.
