After almost an hour of brainstorming I had a gameplan in mind...
Larvesta and I enter the Trial, and we already knew what to do..
"Larvesta use Will-o-wisp!"
The Will-o-wisp is there to negate Aegislash's leftovers, and to slow down its damage...
The Will-o-wisp hit, and the Aegislash got burned, cutting its attack by half.
"Aegislash use Substitute."
The Aegislash sacrifices some of its HP and sends out a Substitute.
After the turn, the Aegislash recovers its HP with leftovers. But the healing is negated by burn damage.
"Volcarona use Substitute!."
Volcarona copies the Red Sword and makes a Substitute, sacrificing its own HP.
"Aegislash use Swords dance!"
The Aegislash sets up. Negating the attack drop from burn.
"Volcarona, Use Quiver dance."
While Volcarona is behind the substitute, it sets up the Quiver dance.. Boosting its Special attack, Special defence, and Speed by one stage.
The Aegislash was then Terastalized into the Ghost type fearing for Volcarona's Flamethrower
"Aegislash use Swords dance once more!"
Having only Shadow sneak as a viable attack against Volcarona, it sets up once more. Now doubling its attack.
The turn ended with both sides receiving leftovers recovery, but Aegislash's was negated by the burn.
"Volcarona, use Flamethrower! Remove that substitute."
The Flamethrower hits the substitute guarding the Aegislash, now on the risk of a one hit KO from the Volcarona, The Aegislash now moves.
"Aegislash use one last Swords dance!"
With Aegislash's attack now at +6, the damage it deals with Shadow Sneak is enough to finally one hit the Volcarona.
Though, This match already went to Volcarona.
"Aegislash.... use Shadow Sneak!"
The Aegislash swaps to its sword form and proceeds to enter melee range. But...
With the Substitute still on, the Volcarona Takes no Damage. Given, I've already won.
"Flamethrower! end it."
The Volcarona Spews out a Flamethrower right at Aegislash in Point-blank range, while the damage not being super effective because of Terastalization, The +1 boosted Flamethrower was enough to knock out the Aegislash while in its Sword form.
Just as the Aegislash fell, my father smirked and he turned into a puff of black smoke.
Me and Larvesta were then taken out of the simulation..
The door now open to proceed with the trials....
Or so I thought.
"hey you're back!"
I'm greeted by Julia and received a bearhug, I don't usually initiate physical contact so I'm used to Julia being the one to initiate.
"Personal space Julia..."
I keep my hands off her as always... even if we are close I'm still not comfortable with initiation...
"Geez Shoto, you really did have me worried. Even if Volcarona did reassure me of your safety..."
"Human Children, I thank you for your company... being isolated from the outside world is rather tiring... but I simply have no choice."
I was about to ask what it meant by that, but I got cut off.
"My heir... take care of her, she'll be able to expirience the outside world like I did in my youth. And she also has a someone to relate to..."
Honedge then entered the room, its vibe is a bit.. different. Though I dismiss it for now. I recalled both of my Pokémon back to their respective Luxury balls before we departed the Volcano.
The Volcarona escorted us out, and it had a few words before we left.
"I'll stay here. You know where to find me if you require the advice.... Though my knowledge of the modern world is... definitely outdated, I'll be glad to hear your troubles. Now take care children.."
Julia and I waved off the Volcarona as it entered the depths of the cave.
The Journey home was quite a silent one.... Julia clinging onto me for dear life after our near death encounter? I just let her do as she pleased.
We reach her Dorm room discretely to avoid the press, and we unload our belongings before we seperated, Julia laying on the bed, and I sitting on her office chair.
I let out Larvesta and I make a phone call
"Henry... I need a Level Restrictor, a high end one.. deliver it to Julia's dorm room ASAP"
Ho?, master, if you require some 'toys' for fun... I'd suggest something more fit for the occasion...
I blush at Henry's reply and Julia stared at me mischieviously
"Don't worry Henry! I dont mind using a Level Restrictor.... he does in fact like this type of-"
"ENOUGH! BOTH OF YOU! geez..."
I lash out from the two's exchanges, and I go tell Henry the gist of the situation, the volcano, Larvesta, and the trials.
"Understood young master. I shall procure a Level Restrictor ASAP for your convinience.."
While we wait for the package to arrive Julia then has an air of seriousness... she's usually the bubbly type, but she does have her moments of vulnerability..
"Hey Shoto.... is it weird that I'm still thinking about what happened? That was close.... if Volcarona didn't save us, I doubt we would have come out of that alive..."
She grips my hand tight, and I feel her slightly tremble.
"Well.... thats not the main reason that I was scared... the main reason was the fact that I dragged you into that mess... I did ask you to come with me to the Volcano.... It still kinda haunts me that you would have been involved because of my whims.. that you might have died because of me.."
I stay quiet and I slowly approach her, embracing her with a tight hug, letting her talk out her worries.
"What's worse? I even thought that I atleast wasn't going to die alone... atleast I had someone with me before I died... how sick.... it makes me so sick that i had that thought. I'm disgusting aren't I?"
Julia doesn't usually express herself this way... whenever a girl does this, it's better to just stay silent and comfort them if you two are close... She doesn't need words of reassurance. She can handle it on her own...
Even knowing that I still said my peice.
"Well... I also had that thought-
"Liar....."
She grips my arms which embraced her.
"Just shut up... You're not good at comforting girls through words.... so just hold me a little longer..."
Ah so my understanding was false...
I complied...and I held her for an extended period of time throughout the night...
