Victor turned his head, eyes narrowing. "Who was that?" he asked quietly.
"I was about to ask you the same thing," Stella replied, peering down the dark hallway. "I swear I heard someone breathing. Maybe one of your 'ghosts of exes' finally came to haunt you."
Victor scoffed. "Very funny."
Stella smirked, walking over to the fridge and pulling out a bottle of water. "Or maybe you've started hosting rats. You barged in at 2 a.m. and woke them up from their midnight nap. Poor things, probably rolling their eyes at you while sipping their rat milk."
Victor chuckled as he poured himself a glass of milk. "Well, excuse me for being thirsty."
Stella leaned against the kitchen counter, arms folded, a sly grin tugging her lips. "You sure it's just milk you're thirsty for? Or maybe... something else? Someone else?"
Victor raised a brow, playing along. "You're being weirdly interested in a kiss that you claim didn't mean anything to you."
