The man seated behind Daniel leaned back casually in his chair, holding a phone to his ear like he was on a normal call. His lips moved with precision, barely above a whisper.

"What's the update on your mission? It's taking too long. Our clients are growing impatient."

Daniel, who had just received a fresh cup of coffee, lifted it to his lips and pretended to take a sip. "I haven't been able to do anything for now," he replied under his breath.

"What do you mean?" the man asked sharply. "It's been six months already, and you still have no lead on the task given to you?"

Daniel glanced around the café, his voice still low. "Why did you ask for this meeting? We could've talked over the phone or used a more discreet location. Why here?"

"Because I'm being watched," the man answered coolly.

Daniel stiffened. "By who? The clients?"
