The shadow boat dipped, glided, and slid across the lava flows. Yana smiled, she actually loved riding the lava flows. Her senses seemed to become endless when exploring then. And because she had high control over shadows she loved being on a shadow boat, it helped her to see shadows more clearly. This helped her to understand and practice (shadow create) and (shadow manipulate). The ships continually recycled shadows and because of this the magic inlaid on to them continually called shadows to it.
Yana took advantage of this and called then manipulated shadows herself. She manipulated some to help the ship and some foe her own purposes. Both worked to elevate her magics.
Yana looked up as Mag appeared next to her. Her black flame flecked with more red than usual. 'I want to go into the lava with you Mistress' Yana thought about it briefly.
'Okay. Are you ready?'
'Yes.'
Mag flared and they both moved down toward the flowing lava. They floated side by side like leaves being directed by a calm wind. As they drifted DD sped by them to hit the lava hard way before they would ever make it. Yana shook her head. She had told him to wait for her on the shadow ship. He truly took being her bodyguard very seriously.
'He is very strong Mistress but he is not needed this time. I see where your memory shades are very clearly and we just need to dive down a bit and I can call them both to us.'
'Both of them?' Yana raised an eyebrow. There were two here under the lava flow but they were a great distance a part. She was going to get one and take the ship to retrieve the other.
'Yes Mistress. Lava is essentially liquid flame so I can control it. I can call anything in the lava to me but I can not do it from above. I need to be in the lava. I think it is because my flame itself has been weakened.'
Yana nodded. They would need to make a stop to the Shadow Flame Fields when they got to Sho.
They entered the lava, DD was waiting, and Mag drifted down a bit further and went to work. DD looked to Yana questioningly. She shrugged
'She says that she can bring them both to her by using the lava to carry them to her.'
DD nodded in understanding and immediately began protecting the area. The first, and closest, Shadow memory came to Mag rather quickly and she directed it over to Yana without hesitation as she continued to draw the other to them.
Yana drew in the Shadow memory and felt the second one closing in quickly. It was moving through the lava relatively quickly but it was a great distance away and it was traveling through lava moving against the current. Yana knew it would take some time.
They had waited twenty minutes and the second memory was almost there and Yana had finished integrating the first when she and DD stiffened as one. They both sensed multiple people.
They gave each other knowing looks then they both smiled. Yana indicated with her eyes that he take the three coming from the ship and she would take the ones below. DD nodded. They moved apart quickly, Yana had a big smile on her face.
She found the four. They were beastkin. Her smile broadened. The shadows of these four would help Jasmine and Mag a lot. They were fire lizards. Their heads, torsos, and tails were reptilian and covered in bright red and orange scales. Their skin was black and they moved through the lava flow like missiles. Their powerful legs propelling them forward.
She isolated them with (spell weave) she wove a net of magic that encased them without them ever knowing it. As they moved closer (spell weave) slowly cooled them. It was so gradual that they did not understand what was happening until it was too late. She had their scales, their hearts, and their shadows without much fuss. The system alert flashed before her eyes.

She returned to her previous position to see DD quietly waiting with three hearts of his own. They moved to her and she gathered them all together. She gave two of the shadows to Jasmine and held two for Mag.
A few moments later the shadow memory was there. She passed the shadows to Mag just as Mag sent over the shadow memory.
On the ship Yana gave the hearts to Starlight and thought for a moment and gave her the three artifacts for the church. There was a flash and Starlight was gone.
Jasmine and Mag were absorbing their shadows and Yana was absorbing and processing the shadow memories. After a short time she got more alerts.

Yana raised an eyebrow. She felt she would only go up half a level for each of her magics so that was no surprise. And she knew that Jasmine was close to increasing her level so to see her Adept now was no surprise. But she did not know what (Shadow life flame) was. She would ask Mag when they were done on Moas. And (Shadow Light) she would experiment with.
Moas was a planet similar to Zom in that it had a lot of land mass and it had cities carved directly in lava rock. The difference was these cities were both below and above ground. And they also processed lava rock to build free-standing structures both above and below ground.
Moas was a beautiful planet covered in obsidian and plants that had learned how to survive in the environment. So in some places the obsidian rock may be covered in mossy leafed ground cover in greens, yellows, or reds. There were massive trees and orchards of fruits that couldn't be found anywhere else.
Yana only sensed one shadow memory on the planet and it was deeply embedded in obsidian. She had wanted Moas to be a quick stop so that they could move on to Orb and finish the mission for the church. And she had to think about the timer on her shadow memories.
Yana sighed and stretched her senses outward in an attempt to understand the obsidian and see if there were any weaknesses. She found none. She raised an eyebrow. The memory Shadow was inside a small portion of obsidian that was wrapped by other obsidian. Yana just took the piece she needed. She placed it in her pocket dimension and smiled.
Simms was mad. Madder than he had been in a very long time. When he received the first heart he was amused. Why would he care about an incompetent fool. But now he had seven before him. The only thing that stopped him from completely loosing it was the fact that each heart appeared within a brilliant flash of light. And he wanted that. He wanted abilities. He didn't have his own so he collected people who had them.
He looked up at Ka. "Increase the bounty I want her alive."
"Boss you need to…"
"I SAID INCREASE THE BOUNTY!!! I WANT HER ALIVE!!!"
He yelled so loudly the dishes before him rattled a bit. Ka said nothing more. He just nodded and retreated into the shadows.
