Chapter 3 - Chapter 2

"You'll get the main role next time. Don't be sad—just do your bestest then." After all that shouting, my manager was actually very considerate.

"Yeah... I'm not sad though. At least I got the side role this time—not just some background character."

"Yes, and that character's a lesbian too. It's perfect for you."

I quickly looked at my manager. "A lesbian what?! You didn't tell me anything about that?!" I said, mouth wide open.

"Huh? Try listening to your manager sometimes. I did tell you—that's why I made you audition for it."

Is it really okay for me to play a character with the same sexual orientation as me? Bro... I hope yes.

After bickering with my manager, she accompanied me home.

"Time to finish that mix. I need it to be a hard banger!"

After showering, I continued working on the mix. I planned to send it tonight.

"Xela. What are you doing?"

I closed the laptop faster than the speed of light. My brother can't find out. He will kill me.

"Nothing. Just searching something."

I just made a remix for another crew. He'll definitely kill me.

"Ah. That your crush? You're serious this time, huh?" He sat down on my bed.

"I think? Anyway... Do you think your group could join a competition where her group will be?"

He frowned. "Be thankful I'm your brother. I actually came here to tell you—her group will be joining the next comp."

I bit my lip out of excitement. Shit. I think this is totally serious. My feelings are freaking serious. Because why the hell would I feel like this when we haven't even had a proper conversation yet?

"You're drooling. God. Wipe that off." Something hit my face—it was Xiel's handkerchief.

"Rude! Get out of my room!"

He finally left after teasing me. Now I can send the remix I made. Hopefully they'll choose it—I poured my heart into that thing. Anything for my crush. Kyaaah!

Ding!

I grabbed my phone. A notification from Instagram.

"Your mix is great. Can we call you to plan for the price? Please acknowledge this. Ty."

I replied faster than the fastest rapper in the world.

"Yes! I'm free as of now!"

I locked my door. Xiel must never know about this.

I fixed myself while waiting for the call. I need to look decent at least. I mean... I'm about to talk to her group. Please, let them approve me.

After a few minutes, my laptop rang. They wanted to do the call on Zoom and had sent me the link.

When the call started, there were three people on. But only one camera was off. Maybe that person's camera shy?

"Well, hello there. Sorry for calling late. We just convinced one of our members to join. She's super nonchalant, but we need her approval for the mix—she's the one who usually choreographs our routines."

I smiled politely. "It's fine."

"Is it okay if we ask a few personal questions? I'm Shell, by the way," said the one with blonde hair.

"Depends how personal," I answered honestly.

She chuckled. "Not that personal. We just wanted to know—do you dance too? 'Cause you're so good at mixing. Your track was a masterpiece."

"Ahh, no. I just love mixing music. I don't have the talent for dancing."

"Wow. That's surprising. I wanna know how you do it," said the one with pink hair—her account name said she's Cali.

"Honestly, I don't know either. I just watch a group's performance and base the mix on their energy. It just... happens."

"Ooh... cool. Now, that's real talent plus you are gorgeous, too. Impressive. I'm jealous. Anyway, let's cut to the chase. How much will you charge?" Cali asked.

Ah. She's pretty, too? Of course I know I have this insane face card as well. Well?

"Just pay whatever amount you're comfortable with. I don't mind."

"No, you should name your price," Shell added.

"It's not even that good, so—" Before I could finish, the camera-shy person finally spoke.

"It sounded great! Sorry, I just finished listening to it. Please let me meet you in person!"

I gasped when her camera turned on and she leaned closer to the screen.

It was her??!!

My crush!! My honeybunch with the drop-dead gorgeous eyes!!
