Chapter 225 - Destruction

"Tenseigan... activate!"

A gleam flashed in Otsutsuki Toneri's eye. In an instant, his ocular power connected with the massive Tenseigan floating in the sky. A brilliant golden beam of light shot forth, piercing the air.

Boom!!

Kaede clashed against it with a swing of his sword.

A thunderous explosion rang out as the radiant beam from the massive Tenseigan shattered Kaede's slash, shooting through and piercing his body.

"So this is the power of the Tenseigan…"

Kaede glanced at the hole in his torso, then calmly looked back up at the giant Tenseigan.

The wound silently regenerated.

Otsutsuki Toneri's eyes narrowed. "That same regenerative ability again… No, it's not simple healing, it's more like... a complete restoration to a prior state…"

Under his heightened Byakugan perception, he had noticed this phenomenon multiple times. Kaede's chakra didn't behave as if he were healing wounds normally, but rather as if he were reverting to a previous, uninjured state.

Kaede's body was like a cohesive mass of living energy, no matter how it was broken or torn apart, it would instantly reassemble and return to its original form.

Toneri was now certain of it.

"In that case…"

A cold glint flashed through Toneri's eyes as he manipulated the massive golden Tenseigan, positioning it directly above his head. It unleashed a blinding golden light that spread across the entire surface of the moon, enveloping Kaede in its radiance.

Under this light, Kaede's body trembled, not from pressure, but from a powerful pulling force.

Zzzzz!

The senjutsu chakra within Kaede began to surge uncontrollably out of him, drawn straight into the massive Tenseigan.

As vast amounts of chakra were siphoned away, Kaede's aura rapidly weakened.

"Your body may be locked in some kind of preserved state," Toneri said coldly, "but the power of our clan's Tenseigan can absorb all chakra that does not belong to us. You can't resist the Tenseigan's pull. That chakra will never return to you…"

Toneri watched him with indifference.

Chakra flowed out of Kaede in a constant stream, being funneled into the massive Tenseigan. Kaede tried to fight back, attempting to regain control over his chakra, but at best, he could only make it tremble faintly. It was nothing compared to the Tenseigan's immense power.

Kaede's expression remained impassive as both the natural energy and Nine-Tails' chakra were drained from his body. In a sudden flicker, he appeared right in front of Toneri and slashed down with his Kusanagi sword.

Toneri grunted softly and raised his Truth-Seeking Ball, intercepting the strike.

"Trying to defeat me before your chakra is completely drained?"

"That's impossible…"

"You'll only grow weaker from here on, until your chakra is gone entirely!"

With a cold snort, Toneri swung his staff at Kaede. Kaede, as if throwing everything into the fight, continued to strike with relentless fury.

His sword strikes engulfed both Toneri and the massive Tenseigan, forcing Toneri to defend with his Truth-Seeking Orbs.

Boom! Boom! Boom!!

Golden and white lights flashed continuously around the giant Tenseigan.

To the eyes of an ordinary person, the battle was incomprehensible, only streaks of gold and white clashing and weaving in a furious dance.

In mere moments, they had already exchanged hundreds of blows.

And the Tenseigan had absorbed more and more chakra from Kaede, its golden glow growing increasingly intense, to the point of blinding brilliance.

Then Toneri finally noticed something was wrong.

His expression shifted in shock.

Even after the Tenseigan had absorbed chakra several times greater than his own reserves, Kaede still seemed capable of drawing forth more chakra from his cells, endlessly.

There wasn't a single sign of exhaustion on Kaede's body. On the contrary, he radiated life and vitality from beginning to end.

"You noticed, huh?"

Kaede, seeing Toneri's realization, stopped pretending. He looked up at the massive Tenseigan above, and instead of suppressing his chakra, he unleashed it in a surging torrent, letting it flood into the golden orb above.

The massive golden Tenseigan began to shift. Bathed in Kaede's immense chakra, its golden light gradually turned to white, its brilliance becoming utterly blinding.

So much so,

Across the Shinobi World, countless people looked up in disbelief. In opposite directions across the sky, two glowing spheres appeared.

"Two… two suns?!"

"What the hell is going on?!"

At that moment,

Ninja from Iwa, Kiri, Suna, Kumo, and Konoha, all across the shinobi world, noticed the change in the sky and looked up together.

Even in a dark, damp underground base, Black Zetsu, who was following Uchiha Obito, looked up in shock.

"This feeling…"

The brilliant white light covered the entire moon, forming what looked like a second sun. Yet this light emitted no heat, only a blinding intensity.

Toneri's expression changed drastically. He attempted to control the Tenseigan to release the chakra it had absorbed, but it was already showing signs of going out of control from taking in far too much chakra.

And,

Kaede was still pouring chakra into it, preventing its release!

"Since you've realized that my body reverts to a fixed state… then it should be no surprise that my chakra is also infinite."

Kaede brought his sword down again, pressing it against Toneri's staff. "But your Tenseigan… doesn't seem capable of absorbing infinite chakra, does it?"

"You…"

Toneri's face twisted.

Suddenly, he remembered, Hamura had told him to seal Kaede away, to banish him to another dimension. Not to kill him!

"It's over."

Kaede looked at Toneri calmly.

Someone who hadn't fought a real battle in over a thousand years, how much combat experience could he possibly have? Even if he regularly sparred with other Otsutsuki, it was never a fight to the death.

Besides, Toneri had inherited his power from Hamura, just like how Hyuga Hiashi might suddenly be granted Six Paths-level strength. How well could he actually use it?

Apart from decent taijutsu...

Everything else was a mess.

If Toneri had, from the beginning, focused solely on stalling and used the Tenseigan to open a portal to another dimension, dragging Kaede through it, he might have succeeded in exiling him.

Flying Thunder God may be powerful, but long-distance space travel wasn't so simple. In terms of space-time manipulation, Flying Thunder God was below Kamui, and Kamui was still inferior to Kaguya's Yomotsu Hirasaka.

If Kaede had been exiled to a different dimension, returning might have proven extremely difficult.

Kaede had been cautious of this from the start.

But now,

It was all over.

Crack! Crack!!

As Kaede's voice fell, the massive Tenseigan could no longer contain the overwhelming chakra. Cracks began to form across its surface.

Those cracks spread rapidly, covering the entire structure.

Boom!!

With a deafening blast, the massive Tenseigan shattered completely, exploding into countless Byakugan fragments that scattered in all directions.
