Chapter 5 - two everlasting stones

I was still sitting in the chair watching Romania when Justin came in. He glanced at Romania worried and said

"Your majesty, the person who attacked has fled."

I turned to him and said

"let us see how long he will live."

Edward who just came in, heard me. He was trembling as he said

"That…that means…"

"Yes, I used Algin magic."

Among reapers there is something called Skill. Some of them can be earned, some of them can be taken, some of them can be given but there are some of them is only available if your born with it. One of the them in Algin, the most powerful skill. I posses that powerful yet dangerous power. There are only two people who posses this power. First is Crown prince of Releck empire. He has the Algin magic but it is weak and limited. Second is me, Empress Rosetta. I have that most powerful skill on top of that unlike crown prince of Releck I can give any command with no limits. That's one of the reasons why people fear me.

Algin is not only a magic it is basically a language. A type of language which you learn when you are in your mother's stomach. I used that language while saying that the person who attacked Romania will not will after 24 hours. Justin nervous because he also noticed that Romania was trying to protect that person said

"Your majesty, are you sure that this a good decision?"

I nodded and said

"Romania may not want that person dead but attacking someone close to imperial is already a death sentence."

Justin still seemed nervous. I didn't mind Justin and turned to Romania. She was still unconscious. I simply sat chair near her again.

While I was watching her, a yellow dim but visible glow appeared from pocket of her maid dress. I reached out and took a look at it. The dazzling yellow stone with the perfect spherical shape. It was outstanding. A piece that needs to be crafted very carefully. It was no other than, GoldenGlow stone.

This stone is usually paired with JadeHeart gem, a green emerald. It stone usually represents everlasting friendship between two people.

The dazzling stone's bright colour and aura which spreads positivity felt familiar. I had this stone once before too. I was kid back then when my friend Oliva, a noble gifted me this stone. I wore it as necklace for 15 years. The time when the empire where I used to live was crushing and end was near. I decided that I would make an empire myself. I invited Oliva to come with me. But she refused. She stayed at the orphanage at the time to help children. She was one and only friend I had but she invited the death upon herself. While I was getting out of that empire the yellow stone which was my memento of her also vanished.

After I got out, I searched left and right for this stone only to find dust. I gave up after 5 years of search. But I still remember that cheerful brave young girl who was loyal to her empire, Oliva. I still don't know if she is still alive or not. I flinched the stone in my hands tightly and said while turning towards Justin

"Find the JadeHeart gem. Buy it at any cost."

Justin nodded and exited the room. When I turned back Romania sitting there. Trying to get conscious. I smiled and took her hand. She looked at me for a moment before she noticed GoldenGlow in my hands. She shoots up and said

"Your majesty…why??…why do you have that…"

I smiled and said

"First sit down."

She sits in front of me with a face of someone who have just been discovered to have committed a crime.

"I…I"

She stammered.

"Where did you get this?"

I asked. She avoided my gaze. I put that stone away and pulled her chin in front. She was forced to lock gaze with me. I asked again

"Where did you get this?"

She sighed and said

"Your majesty, it was from a friend."

"Tell me, which friend do you have who can afford a stone worth millions and gave it to you?!"

She looked guilty but she stayed silent. She has sealed her mouth about this. I thought. Of course she is hiding something fishy.

I stood up and was ready to leave. When I turned back to Romania and said

"Reflect on whether you are loyal to your friend or your master, Romania."

She looked away still with that guilty expression.
