[Third Person POV]
"You saw that, right?!" Danny shouted, pointing urgently at the lingering green stains. "He bleeds green! He's a ghost! So get him!!" He hoped to spark the one thing his parents couldn't resist: their obsession with ghost hunting.
"WHAT?!" Maddie and Jack roared in unison. Their jaws dropped, their eyes bugging as the implication sank in. Both of them whipped their heads toward the spot where Jazz had been taken, their faces twisting with horror.
"A GHOST HAS TAKEN OUR BABY!!" they howled together.
Jack immediately puffed out his chest, voice booming across the lab. "Everyone!" he barked, his hand shooting into the air to demand silence. "Grab your ghost-hunting equipment and report to the Fenton Family Ghost Assault Vehicle! We have a ghost to exorcize!" His eyes narrowed menacingly… before he broke into an excited giggle. "I've always wanted to say that…"
The lab exploded into chaos. Everyone scrambled around, grabbing weapons and gadgets from every shelf, drawer, and wall rack they could reach. Sparks flared as devices powered on, the smell of ozone filling the air.
Sam tossed Tucker the Specter Deflector belt. "You're really the only one without any real protection. Here—."
"Thanks!" Tucker said, fumbling to strap it around his waist before it clicked into place, glowing faintly.
"Dad!" Danny called, tossing the heavy Ghost Gauntlets through the air. Jack snatched them mid-arc and slammed his hands inside. The metal gloves pulsed with neon-green light, humming with raw anti-ghost energy. Jack flexed his fingers, his grin wide and wild.
Maddie was just as quick—sliding sleek wrist-mounted blasters onto her arms. She flicked open a compact cylinder that extended into twin, crackling green energy blades. She spun them once with frightening precision before retracting them, clipping them onto her belt beside a glowing spectral lasso.
Sam hefted the Fenton Foamer, the bulky tank strapped across her shoulders as she primed the nozzle. Which unleashed a special type of goo meant to trap ghost and slow them down.
Tucker braced the oversized Fenton Bazooka against his shoulder, the weapon whining as it powered up.
Danny, meanwhile, loaded his belt with every gadget he could find: the Thermos, a containment cube, ecto-foam grenades, ghost knockout gas. He searched frantically for the Fenton Peeler but cursed under his breath when it was nowhere in sight.
No time. They had to move.
The whole squad thundered up the stairs, weapons in hand. Waiting for them on the driveway was the massive silver-and-green vehicle—sleek and armored, like a tank crossed with a jet. The Fenton RV.
"Kids, buckle up!" Maddie ordered sharply as they piled inside. She opened a hidden compartment, pulling out a small black container.
She dipped her fingers into the thick paint inside and dragged two dark streaks across her cheeks. Jack leaned over eagerly to do the same, his expression instantly sharpening into "war mode."
The three kids stared wide-eyed as Maddie held the container out to them. "Well?" she said with a knowing smile. "You kids ready to hunt a ghost?"
They looked at each other. Their lips curled into matching grins. One by one, they dipped their fingers and smeared the cold paint across their cheeks, voices ringing together with fierce determination:
"We're ready!"
Maddie snapped the lid shut and gave a firm nod. "Then let's move."
"Buckle in tight!" Jack bellowed, slamming his fist down on the ignition. The RV roared to life, its engine screaming as it blasted forward with brutal force. Everyone was shoved back into their seats, hair whipping as the vehicle rocketed down the street.
Maddie flicked switches with clinical precision, her hands dancing across the console. Panels lit up. A radar screen flickered to life, the antenna atop the RV spinning wildly until it locked onto a faint glowing trail. Johnny's ghostly residue shimmered across the display like breadcrumbs leading the way.
"Target locked," Maddie said, eyes gleaming.
"Aren't we getting… a little too into this?" Sam muttered under her breath, glancing at her painted reflection in the window. Her wary grin betrayed that, despite herself, she was enjoying it.
"So what?" Tucker said, tightening his grip on the bazooka. "This is awesome!"
Danny bumped his knuckles against Tucker's with a sharp grin. "Yeah. For once, we're not just fighting ghosts… we're hunting one."
Sam rolled her eyes, but she didn't wipe the war paint off her cheeks.
The Fenton RV barreled down the road, engines howling, lights blazing, as the newly-formed "ghost squad" set off in pursuit of their prey.
The Fenton RV tore through Amity Park's streets, weaving dangerously between cars. Jack gripped the wheel with manic determination, making sharp turns that nearly knocked everyone from their seats. The massive vehicle wasn't built for subtlety—it thundered forward like a juggernaut, traffic horns blaring in its wake.
Up ahead, the faint outline of Jazz came into view. She clung tightly to Johnny, wearing her red jacket and purple scarf, her long hair whipping in the wind.
"There!!" Jack bellowed, slamming a button on the dash. Hidden panels snapped open along the RV's sides, unfolding a small arsenal of cannons and blasters. "I'll get that ghost for ghost-napping my daughter!!"
"Jack!" Maddie snapped, her voice sharp as she slapped his hand away from the controls. The weapons immediately retracted. "Are you crazy?! What if you hit Jazz?"
Jack grimaced, guilt flickering in his expression before he grumbled, "Fine… We'll just have to think of a plan."
Meanwhile, Johnny's shadow stretched unnaturally along the pavement, sprouting wide, unblinking eyes. It hissed as it spotted the RV gaining on them and darted back up and shared what it saw with Johnny
Johnny checked his mirror, clicking his tongue in annoyance. "Tch. Persistent pests."
Jazz, pressed against his back, lifted her head slightly. "Johnny? Is something wrong?" she asked, her voice tinged with worry.
"It's fine, babe," Johnny assured her with a cocky grin. "Just a couple of flies." He revved his engine harder, his bike roaring as he sped toward the city's edge. His gaze flicked to the side—and his eyes gleamed when he spotted a construction site ahead. With a subtle nod, he gave Shadow its orders.
The inky mass detached itself and slithered across the ground toward a towering crane. The massive machine shuddered as Shadow slipped into its frame, the metal groaning as if alive. Then, with a violent jolt, the crane swung wildly, red steel beams crashing downward like guillotines.
"Cover me!" Danny hissed urgently.
Sam and Tucker didn't hesitate. They lunged forward, blocking their bodies over him as a flash of ecto-light engulfed Danny. When the glow subsided, Phantom burst free from the RV's roof. His eyes blazed neon green as he lifted his hands, ghostly energy radiating outward.
The beams froze mid-fall, suspended in a glowing aura. Straining, Danny redirected them to the side, stacking the steel safely away from the terrified construction crew. Without missing a beat, he dove back through the RV roof, his human form snapping back into place just as Sam and Tucker peeled off him.
Maddie glanced back just in time to see Danny smiling too-wide, his face flushed with forced innocence. Her sharp eyes narrowed, but instead of questioning, she smirked faintly and turned back toward the road.
Shadow hissed in frustration, abandoning the crane. It slithered next into a massive cement mixer, sinking into the machine. The drum spun violently, then belched out a tidal wave of wet cement. The gray flood surged toward the RV like a suffocating avalanche.
Danny gripped his seat tightly. His form shimmered faintly, and a ripple of power expanded outward, covering the entire vehicle in his ghostly phase field.
The RV passed through the tsunami of cement as if it were smoke. The liquid splashed uselessly behind them, the ground beneath their wheels slick but harmless.
Everyone exhaled in disbelief.
"Woah, Dad!" Danny piped up, his voice deliberately loud. "Your RV is awesome! It can do so many amazing things! That could've been really bad, huh, guys?"
"Y-Yeah! Totally!" Sam stammered, realizing she was being pulled into the cover story.
"Yeah, Mr. Fenton!" Tucker added quickly, forcing enthusiasm. "Your RV is a… mechanical masterpiece! I'm jealous!"
Maddie had to bite her lip hard to stifle the laugh bubbling in her throat. Jack's brows twitched as his face contorted faintly hearing their fake praises.
"Let's try cutting them off," Danny suggested smoothly. "Coming from behind clearly isn't working…" His words trailed as they blasted past a sign: Now Leaving Amity Park — Welcome to Gotham.
"I agree." Maddie nodded, determination flashing in her eyes. "We'll circle ahead. Step on it, honey!"
Jack floored the pedal, swerving sharply down a side street. Shadow, waiting ahead with its next trap, blinked in shock as the RV vanished from view. It cursed in frustration, abandoning its post and rejoining Johnny.
"Useless…" Johnny muttered coldly, his tone biting enough to make Shadow wilt.
He drove on for several blocks keeping a look out as he passed through the city blocks, Jazz still hugging him tightly, resting her cheek against his jacket as though nothing could harm her.
Then—screech!
The Fenton RV slid sideways across an intersection, cutting Johnny off. Its silver-and-green plating gleamed under the streetlights as its doors hissed open.
Sam crouched at the edge, the Fenton Foamer braced in her arms. "Gotcha." A thick stream of glowing goo blasted forward, splattering across the pavement in front of Johnny's bike. He yanked the brakes hard, tires screeching as they skidded into the trap.
Before he could recover, Jack lunged from the RV, his ghost gauntlets flaring to life. With a thunderous roar, he grabbed Johnny by the collar and slammed him into the asphalt.
At the same time, Maddie vaulted from the vehicle, her spectral lasso whistling through the air. The glowing rope snapped around Jazz, yanking her free from the bike. Maddie caught her midair in a princess carry, clutching her tightly.
"I got you now, baby…" Maddie whispered fiercely, her eyes wet with relief. Jazz, too stunned to speak, only blinked in disbelief.
"That ghost won't hurt you anymore."
