[Third Person Pov]
Location: Gotham City
Time: 9: 34 Pm
Date: April 11
It was Sunday night—the final day of Danny's suspension and the last few hours before he'd be forced to return to the soul-crushing normalcy of school.
For most kids his age, the night would have been spent grudgingly getting ready for bed, setting alarms, and dreading the early morning ahead.
Danny Fenton was not most kids.
Instead of pajamas and homework, he stood beneath the open night sky in the middle of what could only be described as a full-scale war.
High atop Gotham's museum, moonlight reflected off shattered stone and scorched marble as Batman, Robin, and Danny found themselves completely surrounded. From every direction, ghosts of a medieval age closed in—an army ripped straight out of a forgotten history book. Suits of ghostly green armor hovered without bodies inside them, helmets empty yet somehow watching, their weapons very real.
Swords, spears, axes, and halberds.
And the armored knights weren't even the worst of it.
Behind them drifted wizards wrapped in tattered robes, hands glowing with ectoplasmic energy. Jesters flipped and cackled as they hurled deadly tricks, bards strummed cursed instruments that warped the air itself, and rogues stalked the shadows, blades already poised for weak points.
"Yeah…" Danny muttered, floating a few inches off the ground as he scanned the overwhelming numbers. "Things are looking pretty grim."
In a flash of green light, his body split apart, ectoplasm stretching and snapping until four identical Dannys hovered side by side, each one cracking their knuckles or tightening their fists in preparation.
Then the army charged.
The rooftop erupted into chaos as the ghosts attacked all at once, weapons raised and spells flying. One of the Dannys thrust his hands forward, ectoplasmic energy surging out in a brilliant flare. The glowing power hardened and shaped itself into a pair of dual swords, their edges humming with contained force.
He didn't hesitate.
Danny shot forward like a green comet, meeting the charge head-on.
Steel rang violently against ectoplasm as the first clash exploded across the rooftop, the impact sending sparks and ghostly mist scattering through the air. Danny crossed his blades just in time to block a massive axe swinging down toward his head, the force of the blow creating a visible shockwave. He gritted his teeth, kicked off the knight's chestplate, and spun midair, his swords carving through another suit of armor in a clean arc. The plates burst apart, dissolving into harmless green goop.
"This isn't my first army," Danny growled as he pressed forward.
He moved without pause—blocking, parrying, striking in a relentless rhythm. A spear lunged toward his chest; he phased through it effortlessly, reforming just long enough to drive a sword straight through the wielder's helm. A longsword slashed in from the side—Danny caught it, locked blades, and shoved forward, overpowering the ghost with raw ectoplasmic force before finishing it with a swift cut.
All around him, the other Dannys were wreaking havoc as well. One hovered above the battlefield, firing concentrated ghost rays that tore through tightly packed ranks. Another plowed straight through enemy lines like a battering ram, scattering knights and rogues alike as if they weighed nothing.
Batman was a dark blur moving across the rooftop, cape snapping behind him as he rolled beneath incoming ectoplasmic blasts. In his hands was a green dual-bladed sword resembling a lightsaber—one of the Fentons' inventions, humming with anti-ghost energy.
A wizard ahead of him hurled a barrage of emerald fireballs. Batman sliced through them with practiced precision, the weapon cleaving the spells apart as he closed the distance. He slashed at the wizard, then pivoted instantly as a knight flew in from the side with a spear. Using his opponent's momentum against them, Batman redirected the attack and sent the ghost crashing into several others.
From his utility belt, he launched a small canister. It detonated midair, exploding into thick green goop that splattered across the clustered ghosts, binding them together and preventing them from moving—or phasing.
A sudden concussive wave of sound slammed into the space he'd just vacated as a bard struck a violent chord. Batman leapt aside, rolled, and in one fluid motion hurled a batarang. It struck the lyre dead-center, shattering the instrument and silencing the attack instantly.
Robin dropped from above, flipping through the air before landing in a crouch. Smoke bombs hit the ground around him, thick clouds spreading rapidly as he charged forward, anti-ghost staff in hand. He fought with controlled aggression, using blunt force strikes to knock ghosts back while staying constantly on the move.
Inside the smoke, Robin zeroed in on a jester, the ghost cackling wildly as it pulled props from its hat. With a manic laugh, the jester tossed a bomb straight at him—but Robin swatted it back without hesitation using his staff like a bat. The jester's grin vanished just before the explosion sent it flying out of the smoke in a burst of green fire.
One by one, ghosts flew into the smoke screen, only to be violently launched back out moments later with cries of pain. From within the haze, Robin's own wild laughter echoed, unsettling enough to make even the ghosts hesitate—though they pressed on regardless.
When the smoke finally began to clear, Robin stood at its center, panting lightly as he caught his breath. His suit was torn in several places, fresh cuts lining his arms, but he remained upright and ready, staff resting against the ground as his eyes locked onto the next wave.
Explosions rocked the rooftop as spectral fire and razor-sharp ice collided in violent bursts. Shockwaves rippled through the air, rattling stone and steel alike while the night sky above Gotham was stained an unnatural green, blast after blast colliding in blinding flashes of ectoplasmic light.
Robin barely had time to process it all.
From across the battlefield, he spotted Danny locked in combat with one of the ice wizards. Flames roared from Danny's hands in a spiraling inferno, only to be met by a howling blizzard of frost and jagged ice shards. Fire and cold slammed together, steam and ghostly mist erupting as neither side gave ground. Danny pushed forward, teeth clenched, forcing the wizard back inch by inch—until his eyes flared bright green.
He threw his head back and released a ghostly wail.
The sound tore through the air like a sonic shockwave, shattering the ice storm instantly. The wizard was flung backward, slamming hard against the rooftop before going limp, unconscious amid a cloud of dissipating frost.
Robin didn't have time to react before danger struck closer.
A sudden shimmer flashed behind him, and a massive axe swung down toward his spine.
Just before impact, a translucent green barrier bloomed around Robin, the blade screeching against it instead of flesh. He spun around sharply—and saw Danny flying in from above, gripping a massive ghostly warhammer.
Danny brought it down with brutal force.
The hammer smashed into the armored knight, sending the ghost flying across the rooftop. The knight crashed into several of its allies, scattering them like bowling pins amid shattered stone and green mist.
"Don't lose focus!" Danny called out as he entered the barrier with Robin.
"I know, I know," Robin muttered in frustration, rolling his shoulders as his heart pounded. Then his eyes widened suddenly as a realization struck him. "Wait—Danny. Possess me."
Danny froze midair, staring at Robin like he'd just spoken another language. "What?"
"It's hard fighting something you can't fully touch with just ghost-hunting weapons," Robin said quickly. "But if you possess me, I can become fully physical. Stronger. Faster."
Danny's confusion vanished instantly, replaced by understanding.
Without another word, the protective barrier dissolved, and Danny surged forward, flying straight into Robin's chest in a flash of emerald light. Robin gasped sharply as Danny overshadowed him, the sensation electric and overwhelming—but controlled.
Robin's eyes ignited with a brilliant ghostly green as power flooded his body. Ectoplasmic energy bubbled and crackled around his clenched fists, wrapping his arms in an eerie glow.
A spear lunged toward his chest.
Robin stepped back calmly, grabbed the shaft with one hand, and yanked the knight forward. His other hand slammed into the ghost's helm, driving it straight into the rooftop with earth-shaking force. Stone cracked outward in spiderweb patterns as the knight was flattened into the ground.
"Hohohoho…" Robin let out a shuddering, unhinged laugh, his grin stretching unnaturally wide. "I'm going to have so, so much fun with this."
Elsewhere, Batman was locked in a brutal exchange with a towering spectral executioner. The ghost's massive axe carved through the air again and again, forcing Batman to dodge and weave with razor-thin margins. He fired his grappling hook, catching the axe's handle and yanking it from the executioner's grip.
But the ghost didn't slow.
The executioner lunged forward and slammed a fist into Batman's face with devastating force. Blood sprayed as Batman was sent staggering backward, barely staying on his feet as the executioner advanced once more.
Danny phased up through the floor behind Batman. A massive arrow fired from an archer in the distance nearly struck Danny square in the chest—right where Batman's back had been moments before.
Danny grabbed the arrow mid-impact and shattered it with his bare hands. His eyes blazed as he unleashed a concentrated optic blast, forcing the archer to leap aside to avoid being obliterated.
Danny hovered near Batman, intercepting attacks and disrupting strikes while Batman struggled against an opponent who kept phasing through his blows.
"Allow me to possess you!" Danny shouted over the roar of battle and explosions. "You stay in control—I'll give you the power to take him down!"
Batman blocked another punch, but the sheer force sent him flying backward toward Danny. He glanced up, met Danny's glowing eyes—and nodded once in permission.
The executioner charged again.
In an instant, Danny overshadowed Batman from behind, green light surging over the Dark Knight's body.
The executioner swung—but Batman caught the fist with one hand.
He smirked.
Spectral energy flared around his arm as Batman countered with a punch of his own, the impact launching the executioner across the rooftop like a cannonball.
The ghost staggered upright, shaking its head in confusion—only to realize Batman was gone.
The shadows deepened.
A shape swooped down from above.
Batman descended with his cape spread wide like wings, eyes blazing green as he opened his mouth and unleashed a ghostly wail. The sonic force slammed the executioner into the ground, shattering the rooftop beneath him and pinning him in a crater of broken stone.
Batman landed on top of the ghost, delivering a precise final blow that knocked the executioner unconscious instantly.
He rose slowly, eyes narrowing as the green glow faded—and then he vanished back into the shadows, ready for whatever came next.
