Lin Xu's breath caught in her throat as Mo Ying stood behind her, his warmth pressed close.
She forced herself to calm down and looked away, trying to act normal even though her face was completely red.
Mo Ying watched her quietly for a moment, then said, "So… I'm stubborn and annoying. Is that really what you think?"
Lin Xu cleared her throat. "Well… you can be stubborn. And you are annoying sometimes."
He raised an eyebrow. "Sometimes?"
She glared lightly. "Fine. Most of the time."
He chuckled softly, the sound making her heart skip.
They stood there in silence for a moment before Lin Xu finally asked, "Why are you even here? Shouldn't you be with the guests?"
Mo Ying looked straight at her. "I came for you."
She blinked, caught off guard. "For me? Why?"
Instead of answering, he stepped closer again.
"Close your eyes."
Lin Xu frowned immediately. "Why should I? What are you planning?"
"Just close them," he said calmly.
"No."
"Lin Xu."
