Listening to Tony and Reed discussing heatedly in the background, Sebastian coughed helplessly. He whispered to them. "You two should pay attention to the occasion. At least wait until there is no one around before discussing such technical details."
Tony and Reed looked at each other. They nodded immediately and stopped talking.
They walked into the academy castle which was still under reconstruction. They were led by Raven to Professor Xavier's office. Looking at Charles who looked tired and lonely, Sebastian said to him directly. "Charles, this is not like you at all."
"Everything this time is because of my mistakes.
If I had not asked Raven and others to rescue that problematic space shuttle, Jean would not have been affected by the cosmic energy from the solar storm.
If I had not blindly sealed Jean's memories, she would not have become so mentally unstable after breaking through the memory seal. At least she would not have become the executioner who killed so many people."
"There is no 'if' in this world, Charles." Tony and Reed walked in. Reed stood next to Sebastian. Tony sat directly on the sofa and continued to speak to Charles. "What we need to do now is not to reminisce about the past and regret our past decisions. What we need to do is to solve the problem. We need to let that girl called Jean return to normal. This is what we should do now."
Hearing Tony's words, Charles was stunned for a moment. Then he drank the wine in front of him. He exhaled. He returned to his original composed appearance.
"Thanks Tony. I needed to hear that."
"You are welcome Charles."
Nodding at Tony, Charles looked at Sebastian and said. "Sebastian, could you please help me find Jean? I think you can find her right?"
"No need to search. Just by coming here I can feel that terrifying power."
The moment he left the Space Temple, Sebastian had sensed the astonishing power and might. It was power as complete as the Infinity Stones. Yet unlike the Infinity Stones, this power possessed a will of its own. It was almost a living being. In other words it could be considered a living being wielding complete authority.
Fortunately the will of this power felt vague and unfocused. Perhaps it only possessed a simple consciousness. Otherwise even with human-level intelligence it would instantly become a being on par with Death.
Sebastian knew it was the so-called Phoenix Force.
Attracted by Jean Grey who was the figure most suited to become the Phoenix Force's host, the Phoenix Force had chosen Jean as its body and vessel. While granting Jean unimaginable cosmic powers, her muddled and confused consciousness also took a terrible toll. This caused her to become irritable and emotionally unstable. The mental pressure she endured steadily increased.
Furthermore Sebastian knew that the Phoenix Force's full power was the Power of Life itself. Beyond the Power of Life, the Phoenix Force also contained a portion of the Power of Creation and the Power of Destruction. In some ways this power was closely related to the Power of Life. So naturally in addition to the full Power of Life, the Phoenix Force contained the aspects of creation and destruction.
The Power of Life was neither good nor bad. Both giving life and taking life fell within its purview.
Therefore those possessed by the Phoenix Force experienced immensely amplified emotions. However human emotions were a curious phenomenon. Even when amplified, positive emotions often could not outweigh even relatively minor negative ones. This explained Jean's violent rampage.
Sebastian took a deep breath. He stretched out his hand and gently waved it in front of everyone. A three-dimensional holographic shadow of the Earth appeared before them. At the same time a mark similar to a phoenix flapping its wings appeared in Boston. Obviously Sebastian had easily found Jean's location based on the fluctuations of the Phoenix Force's power.
"Charles, is this Boston?"
Charles nodded solemnly and said to Sebastian. "Yes it is Boston. Jean has indeed awakened her full memory. She has indeed gone to Boston."
Hearing this Scott finally could not help but ask. "What is in Boston?"
Turning to look at Scott, Charles replied. "Her father!"
"Her father? I thought Jean's parents died?"
"That is what I said before. It was a mistake I made when I was younger. In fact Jean's father did not die. Only her mother died. The reason for their death was that Jean's power ran wild and out of control. I did this memory seal to protect her. But in the end it ended up hurting her deeply."
Sebastian looked at Charles and said directly. "Charles do not say so much. Are you ready to set off?"
Hearing Sebastian's words, Charles was stunned for a moment. But he quickly nodded and said. "I almost forgot. With your existence Sebastian, we can go wherever we want."
As he spoke, Charles controlled his electric wheelchair to move forward. He came in front of Sebastian and continued. "Okay we can set off now. I will gather the other X-Men members."
"Charles that is not necessary. We are here to help. You and Raven can come with us." Sebastian turned to Scott and said. "You and Jean have a special relationship. So you will not be able to handle things calmly if you come. So do not come with us for now."
Scott looked at Sebastian. He was about to refuse the suggestion. But Sebastian snapped his fingers. Scott fell asleep immediately. Then with a gesture Sebastian picked up Scott and threw him gently onto a nearby sofa. After this Sebastian turned to the others and said. "Okay we can go now!"
With a wave of his hand, Sebastian opened a portal in the air. He led everyone through it.
They emerged from the portal into a quiet and peaceful neighborhood in Boston. Just as they were about to search for Jean, Jean having sensed their presence suddenly emerged from a nearby house.
Jean now wore a stylish windbreaker. Cracks emanating a golden glow appeared and disappeared on the skin of her face and hands. Her eyes glowed bright red like flames burning.
Looking at Sebastian and the others who appeared before her, Jean said directly. "I knew long ago that Charles would find you to deal with me. But I did not expect you to come so soon."
Charles looked at Jean who was strange yet familiar at the same time. He said. "Jean come back with me. I will make you return to normal!"
"Normal? I think I am normal now. Or what you call normal is the silly girl whose memories you blocked and sealed. That was normal?"
