Chapter 17 - Royal meeting Part 2

Rafflesia walked up to as she bowed to the Young Prince. "It is an honour to meet you properly you Prince".

Albion looked at as he spoke to her. "Thank you very much". He then spoke in his head. "Just expected, she the ruler of the Traptrix, just like in the card game".

Rafflesia looked at him as he spoke. "I hope my assassin didn't cause much trouble".

Eria scooped as she grumbled under her breath. "'I hope my assassin didn't cause much trouble' bitch they destroyed by end Wynn Home".

Albion chuckled hope no one less heard Eria, but seeing this room was fill with Dragons a lot then did hear it. "They did, but we escaped twice'.

Rafflesia looked at him as she smiled. "You must have known some advance spell's to make it out with our much problem".

Albion scratched the back of his head he spoke. "Actually I recently started to learn magic, I only know 3 spell, Light Orb Glyph, Light Push Glyph and Light Sigil, Eria and Wynn are the real mages here".

Rafflesia blinked as she spoke in her head. "Does are basic spell, spell's thought to student have just started to learn magic, and non then are attacking spell".

Rafflesia put her fan on her face. "I see, then you must have great flyer".

Albion nervously spoke. "I um, will you see, I just started to learn flying 2 day's ago, particularly the days I got Missing, hahaha"

Rafflesia blinked as he spoke. "Oh um, I see".

Rafflesia spoke in her head. "I know I sent the people who would fail this mission, hit how did you survive?".

The room, for a few heartbeats, was filled with an awkward silence.

Several Traptrix guards exchanged subtle glances.

The Wind Kingdom diplomats whispered quietly.

The Dragon Guards kept their faces stoic — though a few shifted slightly, as if embarrassed for the young prince.

Meanwhile, Eria and Wynn stood a little straighter behind Albion, proud but very much glaring at the Traptrix Queen behind his back.

Scarlet leaned over and whispered to Tillroo,

"He's... way too honest. I would've lied and said I knew at least twenty spells."

Tillroo simply smiled.

"That's why he's the prince and not you."

Back at the center of attention, Rafflesia carefully maintained her polite royal smile, though inwardly she was reeling.

> "Survived assassination attempts…

Can barely fly…

Knows basic glyphs only…

WHAT SORT OF MONSTER ARE YOU TO SURVIVE ON LUCK ALONE!?"

Rafflesia decided to test a little further. She stepped closer, her fan lowering slightly.

"Then, Your Highness, if not by magic or flying skill… may I ask how you escaped?"

Albion, internally panicking but trying to stay composed, smiled weakly and replied:

"Mostly... by improvising?"

He thought in his head:

> "And, you know, sheer protagonist plot armor and a couple of lucky kicks."

Vesiculo, hearing this, immediately snorted — trying and failing to stifle a laugh.

Atypus sighed heavily.

Myrmeleo just muttered under her breath,

"Of course. The dumbest strategy always wins somehow."

Rafflesia, now genuinely intrigued, tilted her head slightly.

"Improvisation... truly the mark of a young dragon blessed by fate, perhaps?"

King Albion coughed loudly from the side, hiding a laugh.

Lord Avian was having to bite his tongue so hard that his face was turning slightly red.

Meanwhile, behind Albion —

Gigobyte (the tiny dragon lizard) perched on Eria's shoulder, hissed slightly toward the Traptrix side as if saying,

"Don't underestimate my human!"

The moment was broken as an official from the Traptrix side approached with a scroll.

The man bowed and presented it to Albion.

Rafflesia spoke, regaining her formal tone:

"This, Prince Albion, is a proposed treaty of mutual non-aggression and alliance between the Traptrix Nation and the Dragon Kingdom.

To be sealed in goodwill... with a royal engagement."

Albion's face froze.

Chame's fan clattered to the ground.

Scarlet blinked hard.

Wynn outright choked.

Tillroo just looked resigned.

And Eria muttered quietly,

"I knew it. Royal Family Novel Plotline. He's doomed."

Albion, sweating bullets internally, slowly accepted the scroll.

Albion opened the scroll with trembling hands, feeling the weight of every eye in the hall boring into him.

As he read through the formal, overly polite wording, one phrase stood out and hit him like a lightning bolt:

> "…to be sealed through a prospective engagement with a royal daughter of the Traptrix lineage, to be decided by mutual agreement during this official visit."

Albion's mind went blank.

His heart dropped to his stomach.

He could barely even hear the diplomatic words continuing around him.

Inside his mind, pure chaos was erupting:

"WHAT DO YOU MEAN 'TO BE DECIDED BY MUTUAL AGREEMENT'?!

WHAT KIND OF ARRANGED MARRIAGE 'ON THE SPOT PICK A BRIDE' SYSTEM IS THIS?!

I'M SIX!!"

Meanwhile...

the Traptrix girls were processing the same reality in their own ways:

Vesiculo, starry-eyed:

"Wait... are we talking about actual princess duties...? Fancy dresses? Getting spoiled? Maybe... maybe it's not bad?"

Myrmeleo, twitching:

"Royal Family drama, being tied down, no more freedom, constant politics — HELL NO."

Atypus, calmly calculating:

"If I marry him, I can leverage the Dragon Kingdom's influence to elevate my personal power… but also, ew, responsibility."

The guards nearby shifted awkwardly.

Asterion watching from a distanc leaned over to Aussa and whispered:

"Well, he's either gonna die from marriage or assassination attempts. Pick your poison."

Aussa just nodded, looking oddly sympathetic.

Scarlet, behind Albion, looked ready to either burst out laughing or cry out of secondhand stress.

Chame was gripping her fan so tightly it almost cracked.

Wynn simply sighed.

Tillroo gently tugged on Eria's sleeve and whispered:

"Five gold coins say Albion tries to run."

Eria, dead serious, responded:

"Ten say he freezes and accepts out of politeness."

Back at the front, Rafflesia gracefully bowed again and spoke sweetly:

"Of course, Your Highness. There is no pressure. It is simply tradition for political alliances to be strengthened this way. You may, of course, refuse... but it would strain relations between our kingdoms."

Albion smiled politely, but inside:

"SO I CAN SAY NO... BUT IT'S A DIPLOMATIC SUICIDE SPEEDRUN?!"

He looked at King Albion, his father, for help.

The King just gave a big thumbs up like,

"You're doing great, son!"

Albion's soul left his body.

Before he could recover, Vesiculo boldly stepped forward, eyes shining, and gave a tiny, shy bow.

"I-if the Prince wishes... I would not mind being the candidate."

Myrmeleo immediately pointed at her and snapped "TRAITOR!"

Atypus just shrugged and coolly added,

"I wouldn't mind either if it benefits my future prospects."

Albion just stood there frozen.

Two girls now had volunteered, and technically Atypus had the cold logical approval look.

Meanwhile, from the side, Scarlet whispered:

"You should just faint. It's your only way out."

Gigobyte chirped loudly, almost like laughing at him.

Albion spoke in his head, ash looked at them. "So, I can refused but that will cause more problems, I need to pick one, but which one, now I wish I had the Traptrix Waifu in my past life, it would have made things easier, Ok, Albion just think about, Vesiculo looks the Oldest, she is probably next line to the throne when Rafflesia step's down, she wouldn't be the worst to pick, I could also just Pick Atypus, and betrayed them save me after call the Avian Guard's, Myrmeleo seems the most combat type, she would probably be a good fit for the Dragoon guard, and um"

"Um Albion".

Albion stopped this think, as he looked at Eria, as he looked at the girl's. "Will um, you see, I know".

Albion made that of a light orb Glyphs as they saw the Light Orb, as like always It shimmered with silver and blue, gently rotating like a small star. Threads of energy drifted from it like stardust.

Refflesia looked at the light Orb as she spoke in her head. "I see, Celestial Light, so that Is how he survived"

Albion looked at them as he spoke. "So um, do I need to pick one"

Refflesia looked at him as she spoke. "For now yes, in the future once the alliance is Completed, you can have the rest of the Royal family.

"Cool". In his mind he screamed

Albion them continued. "I will let my Light Orb Decide".

Everyone but Eria and Wynn were confused, as Albion continue.

"Mana is the purest form of Magic, and Elemental Orb Spells like Light Orb, are made from, aka thought, depending on which head it lands, it means it was my thoughts".

Rafflesia blinked as she chuckled. "Now that is very interesting, it will also reflect your heart, so go ahead".

Albion took a deep breath as he spoke in his head. "Let's see, Go, just don't think anyone of the Traptrix Girl's and I will land on someone like Eria".

Albion let the light Orb Float, as it started to float in the air, as everyone holds there breath, as it started to go high in the air, as it started to float down, as everyone holds the breath as it started from float down near Eria then the air in the room picked, which was only noticed by Albion because Aussa has opened one the windows by Mistake, as it sent the light of to the right, a it stopped mid air, on the top of Vesiculo.

Albion spoke in his mind. "WHY!".

Vesiculo blinked in surprise as the glowing silver-blue Light Orb gently floated above her head, showering her in a soft, ethereal glow.

The room fell completely silent.

Everyone stared.

Rafflesia gave a sly smile behind her fan, eyes glinting with amusement.

Atypus raised a curious eyebrow.

Myrmeleo muttered something under her breath that suspiciously sounded like "Rigged…"

Scarlet was biting her lip, trying not to laugh.

Eria and Wynn simply exchanged looks that screamed,

"Typical Albion luck."

Meanwhile, inside Albion's mind:

"I SAID ERIA! ERIA DAMMIT!

NOT VESICULO! WHY!

Damn it Aussa and your damn window opening!"

But he couldn't back out now.

If he refused after letting fate (and magic) "choose," it would be seen as an insult to Vesiculo and to the Traptrix royal family.

And worse — he could already see Rafflesia's polite but absolutely lethal smile growing behind that fan.

Backing out = instant war declaration.

So with the most awkward, stiff smile in royal history, Albion stepped forward, coughed lightly, and said:

"I, Albion Blue, son of Albion White, do humbly accept Vesiculo of the Traptrix as my chosen fiancé for the establishment of our kingdoms' alliance."

The guards clapped politely.

The Traptrix girls offered light bows — even Myrmeleo, though hers looked like she wanted to strangle someone instead.

The Dragon Guards thumped their spears to the floor in ceremonial approval.

Vesiculo, flushed pink to the tips of her ears, gave a nervous but radiant smile.

She curtseyed perfectly like she had been trained for this her whole life.

"I am honored, Your Highness," she said softly.

Albion, still internally screaming, just nodded.

Meanwhile, Eria leaned over and whispered to Wynn:

"Five gold coins. He didn't faint, but internally? He's dead."

Wynn nodded seriously.

"Double dead."

And somewhere in the back, Asterion muttered:

"And thus begins the story of the boy who accidentally picked his bride because of bad wind management."

Scarlet looked at Tillroo as she spoke, it was wishper that only the DragonMaid could hear. "Was it just me, or did to feel the light Orb was going for someone else?".

Tillroo, standing properly with her hands folded in front of her, kept her head low in respectful posture.

But when she heard Scarlet's whisper, her golden eyes flickered slightly.

She tilted her head just enough that only Scarlet could hear her soft response.

"You're not wrong," Tillroo whispered back. "The Orb was descending toward Eria... until the wind shifted it."

Scarlet blinked, her mind racing.

Wind magic?

No — it didn't feel like magic. It felt natural.

Accidental.

Scarlet's gaze flicked toward Aussa, who was fidgeting awkwardly by the now wide-open window.

The small mage was trying her best to seem invisible.

Scarlet sighed internally.

"So a mistake changed the course of fate," she murmured quietly.

Tillroo chuckled under her breath, an elegant, bell-like sound.

"Perhaps fate itself wished to intervene," she said. "Or perhaps our prince is just very unlucky today."

Scarlet smirked slightly, glancing at Albion, who was doing a spectacular job of looking composed while screaming on the inside.

"Or maybe," Scarlet whispered, a mischievous glint in her eye, "this is just the start of the chaos he's going to drag all of us into."

Tillroo smiled, her expression fond and slightly amused.

"That," she said, "was already inevitable the moment he survived the assassination attempts."

They both shared a quiet, knowing look, before resuming their perfect, polite postures as the formalities continued —

pretending they weren't already secretly betting how long it would take before this "peace meeting" spiraled into disaster.

Refflesia then spoke. "Alright, now we will start the Engagement".

Few minutes later.

As Albion and Vesiculo were next to eachother, as using a Magical Crystal this was being broadcast to all Seven Nation, even the Unnamed Nation for what ever was the to see it, as King Albion and Refflesia started to speak, as to wya speech that was going for a while.

Albion stood there stiffly, his hands at his sides, his mind a whirlwind.

"Smile. Look happy. Don't look like you're being held hostage. Oh god, is my smile creepy?!"

he screamed internally as the magical crystal floated in front of them, broadcasting the event live across seven entire nations.

Vesiculo, in contrast, stood like royalty itself — elegant, composed, and smiling the perfect practiced smile of nobility.

She leaned slightly toward Albion and whispered without moving her lips:

"Relax, Your Highness. You're doing fine."

Albion barely managed a stiff nod, feeling sweat drip down his back under his formal white and blue royal jacket.

Meanwhile, in front of them on the grand stage, King Albion (his father) and Rafflesia were standing side-by-side, both speaking into the magical crystal.

Their voices were being amplified and sent to every city square, every noble's palace, every school ground and guild hall across the continent.

King Albion spoke solemnly:

"Today marks the strengthening of ties between the Dragon Nation and the Traptrix Nation. It is with great pride that we announce this union — a bond of peace, prosperity, and friendship for future generations."

Rafflesia followed smoothly, her voice sweet but commanding:

"Prince Albion, son of Albion the Second, and Princess Vesiculo, second daughter of the Traptrix Royal Family, shall be formally engaged. May their bond ensure a brighter future for both our peoples."

The crowd of nobles, soldiers, and mages around them began to politely applaud.

In cities across the world, bells rang out to announce the news.

Meanwhile, back with the group:

Eria, Wynn, Scarlet, Chame, Tillroo, and Aussa were watching from the sidelines.

Eria looked half-dead with annoyance, Wynn was clapping politely, Scarlet was biting her cheek to stop from laughing, and Chame and Tillroo wore the perfect blank faces of well-trained maids.

Aussa just muttered, horrified:

"Oh my god, this is going to be war. He just married into the spider mafia."

Scarlet leaned toward her and whispered,

"Technically, just engaged. He still has time to run. Not much, but some."

Tillroo calmly said,

"He won't run. He already accepted it the moment he used the Orb."

Back on the stage, King Albion raised his hand to conclude the ceremony.

"May the Light of the Ancients and the Spirit of the Dragons bless this union."

And with that final line, the engagement was sealed — the crystal glowed brightly, recording the moment and sending it into the history books.

Albion managed a stiff, slightly panicked smile toward the floating crystal,

while in his mind, he was still screaming:

"WHY IS MY LIFE TURNING INTO A MANHWA ROYAL FAMILY DRAMA?!"
