Chapter 166 - We should try a few more times to be sure

With the assistance of Omniscient, Roy mastered the Balance Breaker effortlessly after activating it for the first time.

His adaptability rivaled, if not surpassed, that of previous Red Dragon Emperors who had reached this state.

The power of a sacred gear like the Boosted Gear depended on the host's strength.

Few Red Dragon Emperors in history had achieved ultimate class power as humans. But many perished before reaching their full potential.

Roy, however, held numerous advantages over his predecessors, making his mastery of the Balance Breaker exceptionally high.

'The next step is to consider engraving Falna,' Roy thought.

Balance Breaker marked a turning point in his strength within this world, allowing him to compete with renowned powerhouses.

Yet, for veteran figures, even this achievement made him merely a capable rookie.

To truly stand among the world's elite, he needed greater power.

However, Roy wasn't ready to engrave Falna onto the Boosted Gear immediately.

The sacred gear was no ordinary weapon, and applying Falna to it would differ from standard Falna engravings.

Unlike forging a divine blade from scratch, as Hephaestus did, modifying an already formed sacred gear like the Boosted Gear was far more complex.

Its power and intricacy surpassed even top tier weapons, posing a challenge even to Hephaestus.

"I need more information on sacred gears," Roy mused, pondering how to enhance the Boosted Gear further.

Understanding sacred gears in depth was crucial to unlocking their full potential.

Roy quickly considered his best source: Azazel, the governor of the Grigori.

Aside from the Biblical God, who created sacred gears, Azazel's expertise was unmatched.

His research was relentless, and he had even crafted artificial sacred gears, though they fell short of Longinus class gears.

Azazel also oversaw several sacred gear hosts among this people, including those with Longinus sacred gears, making his knowledge invaluable.

If Roy could access Azazel's research, it would greatly aid in engraving Falna onto the Boosted Gear.

Even if his plan failed, Omniscient would ensure he gained valuable insights into sacred gears, making the effort worthwhile.

"Rias, what happened just now? I sensed a powerful surge from here," Sona said, entering ORC as Rias and Akeno dismantled the barrier.

"We were conducting an experiment with Roy," Rias replied, keeping the details vague.

"Sorry for the disturbance."

"I thought some dangerous figure had infiltrated the school," Sona said, glancing at Roy with surprise before relaxing.

As the current Red Dragon Emperor, his power was expected. "It seems you tested the Boosted Gear's power and succeeded."

Roy nodded, confirming her guess.

"If everything's fine, I'll leave you be," Sona sighed, bidding farewell and departing.

"I feel like Sona hasn't given up on you, Roy," Rias pondered, watching Sona leave.

"She's probably just curious about him," Akeno chuckled.

"Doesn't matter. Roy's my fiancé now, so Sona's out of luck."

After the club activities, Roy and the others returned to the villa.

That night, with Rias's body beside him, he let go, and with her eager cooperation, they didn't stop until dawn.

When Roy awoke, Rias was beside him, her flawless body glowing softly as she channeled her demonic power, seemingly intrigued by changes in it after their night together.

"Feel something?" Roy asked.

"I think I'm a bit stronger than last night," Rias said, intrigued with a spark in her eyes.

As the Gremory clan heir, Rias was sensitive to her demonic power, despite her struggles with controlling her power of destruction, which showed she wasn't much of a prodigy.

Still, she couldn't miss such a shift.

Her guess confirmed, she realized the boost in her demonic power was tied to Roy.

"I picked up a bit of a technique by chance," Roy said with a vague smile.

"It seems to enhance our strength when we're playing."

He couldn't reveal his time in danmachi, not even to Rias.

"No limits?" Rias asked, her eyes lighting up with anticipation.

She dismissed her demonic power and leaned closer to Roy.

"I don't think so," Roy shrugged. He hadn't tested it extensively.

"We should try a few more times to be sure," Rias said eagerly, her enthusiasm was palpable.
