Chapter 187 - You've got an enviable setup here

Roy was in a good mood after receiving the news that Azazel planned to come to visit.

Even if he couldn't get the Sacred Gear information from Azazel tomorrow night, he should be able to get some other good things. After all, as one of the Three Great Factions of biblical mythology, the Grigori had existed for a very long time; they must have other collections besides Sacred Gear materials.

The next day, after spending the day in Kuoh Academy as usual, Roy went home as agreed and waited for Azazel to arrive.

Rias and Akeno had not come back yet; they were still in the Underworld dealing with matters related to the Kokabiel incident.

"Raynare, the guest has arrived."

At seven o'clock in the evening, Roy felt an extremely powerful aura approaching the villa. This aura was neither deliberately suppressed nor released. It simply maintained its own rhythm as it slowly neared the house.

However, even though the owner of this aura was only maintaining it naturally, its intensity was far beyond Kokabiel's level. This was a true Maou-class character.

"Yes, Master Roy." Raynare responded, then left the living room and walked out the front door.

After a short while, Raynare returned, her eyes filled with excitement. Although she deliberately tried to suppress it, her excitement was still palpable.

Behind Raynare followed a middle-aged man who looked to be in his thirties or forties. He was dressed very casually, with a kimono and a pair of slippers. His hair didn't look well-managed, giving him a slightly rough appearance. He didn't look like a guest making a formal first-time visit, but more like an old acquaintance dropping by.

"Yo, Sekiryuutei."

There was a wicked smile on Azazel's mouth. He looked unkempt, but his eyes were very bright. After scanning the scene in the villa, he was the first to say hello.

"It's a pleasure to meet you, Governor Azazel of the Fallen Angels. My name is Roy Flott," Roy responded politely with a smile.

"This is Governor Azazel of the Fallen Angels?" There was a hint of disbelief in Koneko's eyes, and she couldn't help but blurt it out.

It wasn't that she didn't believe his identity. After all, that aura, which wasn't even deliberately suppressed, couldn't be faked, and he was definitely a major figure comparable to a Maou. Moreover, Roy had already explained to them that the Governor of the Fallen Angels would be visiting this evening.

It was just that the Governor of the Fallen Angels looked like a decadent, middle-aged uncle, which was truly hard to accept.

Because she was a member of Rias's peerage, Koneko could occasionally meet the contemporary Maou Lucifer, Sirzechs, in private. But the aura and temperament of Sirzechs were on a completely different level from the person in front of her.

If one were to meet Azazel and Sirzechs without knowing who they were, even an ordinary person could tell at a glance that Sirzechs was an important man in a high position. Azazel, on the other hand, perfectly fit the image of a decadent, middle-aged, unemployed, and divorced uncle.

Ravel had the same question as Koneko, but she didn't say it aloud, instead looking at Azazel very curiously.

The church trio had been together for the past two days and were also in the villa. After seeing Azazel's arrival, Xenovia and Irina couldn't help but tense up, looking at him with nervous eyes. Neither of them had ever met Michael, yet here they were, meeting the leader of the Grigori first. The feeling was difficult for them to process.

On the contrary, Asia looked very normal, observing Azazel with curious eyes, which was probably due to her personality.

As for Mittelt, her mood at the moment was similar to Raynare's. As Fallen Angels, the person they admired most was their Governor Azazel. In the past, they could never even get a glimpse of him, but now they could see their idol up close. It was hard not to be excited.

"That's right, I am Azazel, the Governor of the Fallen Angels, little girl." Azazel had a wicked smile on his mouth, much like a lecherous old man.

The next moment, as if to prove his identity, twelve black wings spread out from behind him. This was the symbol of the highest class of Fallen Angel. The blackness of his wings was even purer than Kokabiel's.

"I've been the Governor of the Fallen Angels for so many years; it's tiring to put on airs every day," Azazel said, retracting his wings and shrugging helplessly.

"Besides, this isn't a formal meeting between me and the Sekiryuutei, just a private visit. There's no need to be so serious," Azazel added. "Just be casual."

Hearing Azazel's explanation, the doubt and disbelief in Koneko's and Ravel's eyes gradually faded, replaced by another emotion. Perhaps it was a look of disdain for this pervy uncle? That wasn't quite accurate either. In any case, the two of them stopped worrying about Azazel's image and silently withdrew their gazes.

Azazel was a sharp person; how could he fail to see the emotional shift in the two of them? But he didn't pay it much mind.

"There's no need for the two holy sword users over there to be so nervous," Azazel glanced at Xenovia and Irina. "I'm not here to fight today, just to talk with the Sekiryuutei."

"Please sit down." Roy invited Azazel to come in and sit.

Azazel was not polite. After entering, he sat down opposite Roy very casually.

"You've got an enviable setup here," Azazel said.

"How so?" Roy asked with a smile.

"Fallen Angels, Devils... characters who originally belonged to factions that are incompatible with each other, can actually live in harmony together." Azazel sighed and said, "If this kind of scene were placed hundreds of years ago, it would be unimaginable."

In other words, hundreds of years ago, even if people from the factions were living in harmony, they would have been scorned, spurned, and even hunted down by their own kind.
