"Logan, I was supposed to treat you tonight," she said, trying to keep her composure.
He barely spared her a glance. "No need. Just take out the ball you mentioned earlier—and leave."
Hailey: "???"
Natalie tilted her head. "What ball?"
Hailey hesitated, then slowly pulled a crystal ball from her bag.
Inside, a tiny snowman in a red dress stared mockingly at her.
She ignored the strange feeling and gazed at Logan.
"You gave me this, remember?" she said, cheeks flushed. "You told me to wait for you."
Natalie's heart clenched.
She had just managed to avoid donating blood to Hailey by using Logan's name. But now, Hailey was using some childhood memory to get close to him.
If that relationship was real...
Would Logan force her to give a blood transfusion—or even donate bone marrow?
Natalie stiffened, her entire body tense.
Logan reached out, took the crystal ball, and handed it to Natalie.
"Your ball. I'm returning it to you."
Natalie: "???"
Her ball?
