Chapter 29 - Chapter 29: The Lunavere Town

After leaving the dense forest behind, the group continued their journey across the vast plains. As the trees cleared and the horizon opened, their eyes widened in awe.

Before them stood Lunavere, one of the greatest mythical towns in the entire kingdom.

The sight was overwhelming — massive gates made of silverstone shimmered with magical runes, and tall towers touched the clouds, each glowing faintly with enchanted light. Floating crystals hovered in the air, acting as both lamps and magical sensors. The town was alive with motion — carriages pulled by glowing beasts flew through the skies, and people with staffs, capes, and magical tools walked the streets confidently.

Ren's jaw dropped. "I've never seen a village this big in my life."

Ryota stood beside him, stunned. "Yeah… this place is enormous."

Hayato chuckled at their reactions. "It's not a village. This is Lunavere — one of the largest and most magical towns in the kingdom. Its history is deeply rooted in ancient magic and powerful trade routes. This place is respected not just for its size but for the knowledge it holds and the power it has supported over the ages."

Ren looked around, eyes sparkling. "This… is something else."

He turned to Morvon. "Is this your home, Morvon?"

Morvon stiffened. A flicker of fear passed through his face. "No… it's not," he said quietly, avoiding eye contact.

Ryota leaned in close to Hayato and whispered, "He's been tense since we got close. How did he get this scared? And how the hell did he survive wherever he came from?"

Hayato shook his head. "I don't know… and every time we try to talk to him, it just gets worse. He barely talks. Only responds to Ren… and even then, it's like he's holding back something big."

Ren turned toward them. "Let's head inside."

As they stepped through the grand gates, the world seemed to shift. Magic pulsed through the streets, almost as if the ground itself was alive. Buildings towered above, made of enchanted wood and marble. Glowing runes floated over shops advertising potions, weapons, scrolls, and rare magical creatures. Children floated on enchanted brooms while guards in armored robes patrolled the skies.

The air felt thick with energy — a blend of arcane power and ancient secrets.

"This town…" Ren whispered. "It's so developed. It feels unreal."

Hayato nodded. "Lunavere played a major role in shaping magical civilization. It's one of the most important towns in the kingdom's history."

Ryota was already moving between stalls, curiously checking out magical devices, glowing stones, and strange elemental weapons. He stopped in front of a stall displaying a spear that emitted cold mist from its blade.

But just as he turned, he accidentally bumped into a man walking by.

The man had sharp eyes, a pale face, and an emotionless expression.

"Sorry for the bump," he said flatly.

Ryota blinked. "No, it was my fault."

The man tilted his head. "Admitted it quickly. Hmph. I thought you were blind. But turns out you're just a lost child. Shouldn't you be with your mommy and daddy?"

Ryota's eyes flared. "What did you just say?"

The man ignored him and started to walk away. "I don't waste my time helping kids. Go cry somewhere else."

Ryota clenched his fists, anger boiling. "Come back here and say that again! I'll show you who's lost!"

Ren quickly grabbed him by the shoulder. "Let it go. He's not worth it."

Hayato sighed. "Forget that guy. Come on — this town has a lot more to show."

They continued deeper into Lunavere, marveling at the massive magical clock towers, enchanted fountains that sang ancient lullabies, and even illusion shows playing in the air like floating screens.

Eventually, they reached a gigantic building at the center of the town. It looked like a castle, built from glowing white stone with huge spires reaching high into the sky.

"This is the Grand Magic Library," Hayato announced. "It contains detailed knowledge on almost every known magic type — history, theory, usage, and lost techniques. Mages from all over the kingdom come here to study."

Ren stared up at the castle-like structure. "So this town holds the key to understanding how magic truly works?"

Hayato nodded. "Exactly. And I'm guessing… you've never really learned the deeper parts of magic and it's history. This place will help you. It's known across the kingdom for its magical archives."

Ren's expression grew serious as he looked up at the massive doors. "So… this is where we'll find the truth about Memory Manipulation and Curse Magic?"

Hayato gave a small smile. "Yes. You guessed it. That's exactly why we're here."

From this chapter the Lunavere arc will be started.
