Chapter 3 - Spirit Beast

Spirit Beast,

What was a Spirit Beast?

In this world, every single creature except for human, they could be seen as a mutated beings from Earth. There were some familiar characteristic with animals or plants from Earth.

Some were seen as destruction.

While some were seen as a Guardian Deity.

Some even speculate, they were already here before there was a human live there.

So, when the human came to this planet, they divided the creature into two.

Demonic Beast, who bring destruction.

Spirit Beast, who seek harmony.

Those were the first two terms they used, but with time and study, more and more words and classifications were made.

One of them was the discovery of human connection with Spirit Beast.

Apparently, human is a unique creature in this world where they can automatically prevent natural contamination of the Demonic Qi or Miasma some people call it.

At the same time, Demonic Beast's Egg and Spirit Beast's Egg both are free from the contamination. Which means that when the egg hatches, there will be a brief period where they won't be corrupted.

Combining these two knowledges as the foundation, people began to make a contract with those Beasts at an early stage as their first Contracted Beast.

Which also the reason Fang Ming was only looking at the Beast Egg in the shop.

Some people calculate that making a contract with Beast Egg has the least chance of failing.

Fang Ming the opened his eyes after closing it for a while. His eyes were hurting a bit from all the text that the system gave him.

Even when he asked to be shown the compatible Beast Egg, the system could tailor all of the Spirit Beast with all sorts of way to match Fang Ming. The only problem was, to achieve it, the price it took was enourmous.

'Narrow down the choice to only show 90%-100% compability.'

[Affirmative]

With the command, one by one, information was taken off from Fang Ming's vision. But still, with these limited information, Fang Ming saw a different color one that was buried before.

Usually, the frame of the information from the system was colored blue, and yet, there was a single Beast Egg with color gold around it.

For a moment, instead of joy, Fang Ming sighed. He felt like he had to ask the system once more and listening to the explaination, while he walked toward the Beast Egg and take a good look at it.

10 Spirit Beast Eggs with the same species, same shape, and almost exactly the same. Fang Ming soon grew intrigued.

[The gold...]

'Make it short.'

Fang Ming swiftly said after realizing the long pause of the system, as if it was loading the long esaay it was about to gave Fang Ming.

[....]

[The Spirit Beast or Beast Egg with golden frame contain a trace of rare bloodline in it.]

'Should have told me earlier. The first Spirit Beast is the foundation. I will aim for perfection if I have to. Isn't that the whole point of having you helping me?'

[Affirmative... Registering command... Re-evaluating...]

'So is this the best one for me?'

[Calculating...]

[Affirmative...]

"Interesting... Snow Fox... I thought this species was only good for House Pet."

Fang Ming inspected the egg once more and gave up trying to find the difference with the other Snow Fox's Egg.

"Thank you, Sir. How are you gonna make your payment?"

"Credit card, please."

"Understood."

The whole process of buying the Beast Egg ended like normal but the packaging was something done entirely different.

Fang Ming could see one of the worker went to the back room to get a container, to make sure the Beast Egg stay safe.

"Wait, no..."

Fang Ming said in reflex when he saw the Spirit Herbs and Spirit Stones that he also bpught were placed in a different container.

"S... Sir?"

"Hah... Move..."

Fang Ming walked toward the protective glass container with his Beast Egg.

'System, tell me if I do something wrong.'

Then, he began to put his stuff inside the box container instead. The people who work and the customers looked confuse. Even Fang Ming felt awkward since this was probably the first time someone ever done that.

"Perhaps he wants to safe space?"

Various questions were asked by the people around him, inside their minds.

Still, Fang Ming ignored them.

This was the system method.

Fang Ming summarize it as a way to develop the Spirit Beast while still inside the egg. To either mutate, develop, or influence the Spirit Beast for creating a stronger bond later on.

"That's all. I'm leaving..."

After stuffing them inside together, the inside looked cramped with stuff. Even Fang Ming didn't know whether this is good or not.

Since the system didn't notify him, he ignored it and walked back home.

Click!

Closing the door behind him, Fang Ming made his way to the living room where the moonlight shone the brightest.

He placed the container there and threw his notepad on the dining table.

Thud!

He flinched.

Fang Ming then snapped his face to the hallway where the sound came from. Feeling silly for being startled by his own bag falling to the floor.

"Right... It is still here..."

Fang Ming took his work bag and carry it inside, to properly stash it. That was when a piece of paper fell from his bag.

The color on it was flashy.

There was even a logo of a woman silhoutte, pole dancing.

"Hmm? Ah, I forgot... How long has it been in here."

Fang Ming took the card and inspected it casually when a memory surfaced in his mind.
