The Eight Gates of Dunjia
Guy, Genma Shiranui, and Ebisu found themselves in a perilous situation—they had encountered the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist, legendary killers of Kirigakure. Their chances of survival were slim.
Just as the group prepared to fight or flee, a figure appeared between them and the swordsmen.
"Dad?!" Guy exclaimed in disbelief. "What are you doing here?! You're just a Genin!"
Might Duy, known to many as the "Eternal Genin," stood firm, eyes locked on the enemy. He could sense the bloodlust radiating from the seven. Without hesitation, he said gravely, "No time to talk. You three—run. I'll hold them off."
Guy's eyes widened in panic. "We can't just leave! They're all Jōnin—and they're the Seven Ninja Swordsmen! You can't face them alone!"
But Duy's voice remained resolute. "I can. I've been training my whole life for a moment like this." He struck a dramatic pose, thumb raised. "I've mastered the Eight Gates Formation."
Guy's heart sank. His eyes quivered. "But that technique—"
"Self-discipline, Guy." Duy gave him a glowing thumbs-up, a tear at the edge of his smile. "Now is the time to protect what matters most. That's the true meaning of being a shinobi."
A surge of red steam erupted from Duy's body—the terrifying sign that he had opened all Eight Inner Gates, including the final Gate of Death. The earth trembled under the pressure, and even the Seven Swordsmen hesitated.
Elsewhere, a mysterious shinobi named Chi Yu—locked in a separate skirmish—suddenly paused. A monstrous chakra signature flared across the battlefield. Alarmed, he activated his sensory abilities.
"What is that…? It can't be from Kirigakure. It feels... unnatural."
Following the signal, Chi Yu leapt across the treetops.
Meanwhile, Guy stared at his father, tears silently falling. "Dad…"
Despite the agony of his body breaking down from within, Duy forced a smile. "Guy... true strength isn't measured by defeating the powerful. It's about protecting what's precious. You are Konoha's next Green Beast. Let me light the path so you can grow strong."
Guy clenched his fists, resolve hardening. "You'll always be my hero, Dad. Genma, Ebisu—we're going!"
"But—" Genma began to protest, glancing at the overwhelming odds.
Guy turned to them sharply. "He's already decided. Don't make his sacrifice meaningless."
With heavy hearts, the three turned and retreated.
Might Duy watched them vanish into the trees, voice trembling with emotion. "And you, Guy... you are my eternal pride."
He turned to face the Seven.
The enemy—armed to the teeth with legendary blades—hesitated. Something about Duy's presence now felt fatal.
He moved.
In an instant, he was in front of Jinpachi Munashi, the wielder of the Exploding Blade: Shibuki. Jinpachi barely had time to register the blur before—
"Evening Elephant!"
A compressed shockwave exploded from Duy's punch, not even making direct contact but still blasting Jinpachi through a swath of forest. His body skidded across the earth, bones shattered, blood spilling, until he fell into a crater. He was dead before he hit the ground.
One down.
The remaining swordsmen reeled in disbelief.
Kushimaru Kuriarare, wielder of the Longsword: Nuibari, tried to ensnare Duy's legs with chakra-infused wire.
Simultaneously, explosive tags rained down from the air—Jinpachi's trap had already been laid.
"Stitch!"
"Explode!"
But it was too late. Duy raised a foot and stomped, breaking the earth beneath him. The chakra wires snapped. A shockwave tossed the tags into the air just as they detonated.
Booms rocked the ground—but Duy emerged from the smoke.
Despite broken arms, he launched another Evening Elephant, this time targeting both Kushimaru and Jinpachi.
Two more shockwaves.
The air itself cracked.
The two Swordsmen were sent flying in opposite directions, their bodies pulverized midair before they could even scream.
Three dead.
The remaining members—Jūzō Biwa, Fuguki Suikazan, Raiga Kurosuki, and Jinin Akebino—stood frozen.
Fear overtook pride. They turned and ran.
Might Duy's body trembled. His muscles were torn, his bones fractured, blood pooling under his feet. He could barely stand—but he smiled.
"Guy... the rest is up to you."
The red steam enveloping him flared brighter. The Final Gate was consuming his life force.
Chi Yu finally arrived at the battlefield. He perched silently in a tree, stunned by the spectacle below.
"That's… the Gate of Death?" he murmured, eyes wide. "Those were the Seven Ninja Swordsmen... and he's killed three. Alone."
He glanced at the craters in awe.
He had come seeking information—but now, he found himself witness to something far greater.
Below, Duy dug his feet into the ground. The air distorted around him. The red steam began forming a dragon-shaped aura, twisting and roaring like a living flame.
Chi Yu's pupils contracted. "That chakra… it's turning into a dragon. Could it be—?"
Duy moved.
In the blink of an eye, he appeared behind Jinin Akebino, wielder of the Helmet Splitter: Kabutowari.
"Might Guy!!!" Duy shouted—not as a cry for help, but a final encouragement.
He kicked Jinin full-force in the back. The man folded instantly, his spine shattered. He skidded along the earth, tearing a trench across the terrain until his limp body slammed into a mountain and stopped.
Even Fuguki Suikazan, merely brushed by the edge of the steam, was blasted aside.
And still, Duy stood—just barely—on two broken legs, steaming like a furnace about to collapse.
The battle was nearly over.
